The Gen1 lasted 6 years and so far the Gen2 is at 9 years. Anyone heard rumors or anything about when the 14 will be re-styled?

Due to ever more stringent emissions standards, it's unlikely we'll see any new ZX-14 development beyond 2020. Get 'em while you can because '20 will be the swan song.

BS... Emission is all about cold start [rich] and cruise [02]. Corvette is coming out with the most powerful engine with emissions. So the next fastest production bike will have emissions and still kick ass. Cash waiting~

Gen1 = 1352cc
Gen2 = 1441cc
Gen3 = ????cc
Either way, E is faster than Gas... Cash waiting.
Only way, meaning I rather ride a pusher than a normally aspirated... Cash waiting here too. If they invested in SC and E bikes, then the top bike for mother tea has to be a big bore spinner. Speed is relative. See if you agree. Ride a Z1 and now jump on a 14. Big difference, right? Think the 14 being the Z1 and it's relatively as slow now to this next generation of spool-ups.
E bikes have to run under 2 seconds from 0 to 60 foot; if you want my money or don't bother.
SE bikes have to torque you off the bars or why bother opening up the spigot one HP at a time.
Only way the paper rolls out of my wallet is show me the good times on a faster bike.

That looks really good there.These Kawi engineers are intelligent and paying attention.I'd be in in a few if they could get the mileage up...past 200+ at least per charge.And a quick charge function.If it could manage to full charge in say 20 minutes or less,that'd be really good.Now we just need the terminals.First I've heard of an E bike from Kaw.You can bet they're gonna have something sweet up ahead.

I believe the e bikes are being sold with a heavy dose of snake oil. They're not cheap and around LA it's mostly the the "save the gay black wales from global warming" believers who are buying. Not understanding the natgas fired power power plant generating the juice to charge the battery actually has a bigger carbon waste due to efficiency and power transmission losses than their ZX14R producing btus via good old gas.
Then there's the small issue of energy density and power consumption. Sure you might get 200 miles on an e bike putting along at the speeds my 150cc scooter runs around town at and gets 70 mpg but just a few o-100 mph in 4 sec speed runs and in about 7 minutes you will be pushing the heavy dead battery to the next charging station.
And all for the easy on the pocket book price of $20-30K, So to impress Darryl Hanna you buy a Zero or a Harley whatever its called or buy a new H2 Carbon and pick up a dirty woman from the rock store and show her the Snake a few time and still have lots of fuel to get back to Malibu.

The dirty girl rides the snake a few time with you on the H2 until she get to Malibu and then u can start putting the meat to her and her friend (in SoCal they always come in pairs) Point is the ebike ain't gonna make it up the snake and over to Malibu without stopping somewhere and deploying the solar panels for a 17 hr recharge and by that time the bitches both left in an uber

About half of these are HUB on various bikes with the exception of the crash into the bicyclists and the other half are Leno in disguise

Anybody that buy electric transportation is a Dumbass Dipshit !!!!!!!! with capital D's
That's exactly what 99% of the world's population thinks about people who ride hyperbikes.
EV range is improving in leaps and bounds. Range of the new Zero is over 100 miles (up to 165 if ridden judiciously) and charge time is down to 80 minutes. The first number will go up and the second will continue to go down. Even the oil companies are doing EV r&d, looking for the next breakthrough. Opinions are fine and everyone has a right to theirs but facts are facts. At some point in the future, you'll either take an EV or you'll stay home. Or go back to riding a horse.

facts. Only fact you produced is people are fucking stupid and your post proves that perfectly !!! 80 minutes charging what kind of moron is going to sit at a charging station for 80 minutes every 100 miles using the energy from a coal or gas power power plant to recharge .
fuck you nobody is ever going to make me take anything !!!!!!!! the future is when the power grid goes down the people that have everything in electronic funds will not have anything to trade. i bet those EV people hate guns too

What a silly motherfucker. Only thing bad about you is your brain which must be tiny and shrunken from all the bile swimming around in your head. Eat shit and die.

cruderudy, thanks for the explanation and link. After watching so many bikes crash on The Snake, I conclude I am not the worst rider out there. I know I'm not very good and ride accordingly. The guy riding the Harley bagger had to have heard all the noise from the undercarriage scraping but just kept dialing it on until he crashed.
