emblem removal
06/02/15 2:02 AM

Looking at Rich67's red 'o6 in the for sale section reminded me that I want to remove all the factory badging. [i]t looks so much cleaner. I remember somebody used kevlar thread to remove the chrome lettering, and a heat gun for the stickers. Is this the best way? My bike has always been garaged, and I'm hoping the paint wouldn't have faded enough to notice, but is it too late?

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

I used heat to start the letters and emblems and then hit them with some adhesive remover. I would think that after that many years you will see where they were. I know I removed them right after I got my black 2012 and you could se where they were on the tank. On my orange and black 2014 I didn't remove the ones on the tank but did the rest of them.
