BRACKET SCIENCE
09/04/17 6:51 AM

I have a new bike related hobby. It's making brackets. I have some ideas for new parts and I'll update this thread when I make them.

Here's some I did a couple years ago for my Ohlins shock controls.

And just lately, I made these accessory brackets for the handlebars. They were designed for gauges but you could put all sorts of stuff on there with a little modification. I plan to make this a one piece unit for the RH side.

thanks Grn, thanks, paul. I'd be glad to sell them but they would have to go for a pretty hefty price compared to what you'd expect to pay for a mass produced item. I have to cut and bend all of these by hand. I suppose if I made some jigs that would help...or send them in to online machins shop and I'm sure they could just 3D print them. After all the time it takes to figure one of these out so it fits and looks right, it would be worth the price if you really need the item. LOL wish I could have just bought them instead of design them from scratch.

If anyone's interested, I'd donate a percentage to the forum. Have to work that out with bg.

Rook something like this is worth the additional price. It's a custom product and this is a good market for them. I've known people (and I'm sure many here have) that have started small businesses based on engenuity like this. The key is for you not to forget your "product" is not only worth the cost but also a profit, and consider you're spending time designing these too, some of that cost should be recovered in every bracket you'd sell.

"if and when" Vic, if and when....I'd love to sell them but the market is probably pretty small. If there's a dozen orders, I'm open! Thanks, though buddy. It's a little side dream but at this point in life, it's a sure thing or than you very much but I'll stick with the day job.

Why would you run around with that boat anchor holding up your mudflap!!

The Rook Racing Mudflacket will melt one and three quarters ounces of ugly unwanted metal off your ZX-14 and look pretty in the process! It takes only minutes to install!!!!! Ditch that crusty old OEM mudflap bracket and go with the Rook Racing Mudflacket mudflap bracket TODAY!!!!!

$45 ships free in the contiguous USofA!!!!!

Optional rear brake light connector lead retainer spacer included or just bend the OEM retainer a little and avoid the .05 oz!!!

Ditch the LH side wire retainer bracket for an additional ONE FULL OUNCE of weight loss!!! Get rid of it. Use a zip tie. You don't need that thing on your svelte ZX-14!!!!!!!!!!!

Replace the OEM bolts with Pro-Bolts aluminum race spec bolts (add $10 and 2 weeks to delivery) for even more INSANE weight reduction!! one third the weight of OEM steel bolts!!!

What do you calculate is the HP increase is for the bolt on mod? It may be a deal at only $45. Do forum members get free shipping?

I haven't dynoed it yet but if you subtract 1.75 oz from 500 lbs, that will give you an idea of the torque increase. Utterly dramatic!

Sure everyone gets free shipping.

The defining characteristic of any successful ad!
