That says the factory manual is no BS they can go pull a bike off the line, here you go, give or take a hp ana half. So if claimed HP is rated... There is no measurement for the US side... you bunch of politically correct got everyone climbing the walls they don't state it so granny doesn't get upset about this slow bike.

Top blight or top shelf... I'm going to shithis one out. I'm going to turn a card over at every dealershitheir pants or let it sit and hatch eggs, here is the price... Call me... Months down the road call me, so will the price of my offer drop.

You want me to pay that kind of price, the others come out and whoopisshit up? Mother teapot is back to the drawing board they are catching up!

I believe the 2012 is a great bike and that "stock for stock" it will put out more hp than previous generations. But the way I plan to mod my Mona Lisa: bst, susp, shorai etc... The only thing that'd make me jealous is tc but since I have limited skills I haven't been able to push the bike where I would need it. Slipper clutch... It's sure is nice but I kinda like the way she fishtails under hard down shifting! I was gna stop modding my 06 so I can start saving and buy 1 in 2013 but I wanna experience the gen 1 potential fully before moving on.

@Roman: the brakes upgrade cost me $250 (ouch) I'm doing the suspension and rotors hopefully end of jan and bst's end of next year so seat tight for the pics loool

Let me know what you do to your suspenders dragking and how it works for you. If I remember correctly, you and I are pretty close to the same weight.

@kruz: should be on my way back to 230 lbs by end of Jan! I have talked to Robert from on & off road cycles. It does track days in houston and all over texas. He came highly recommended.... Supposed to be a suspension guru, I heard he used to be an electrical eng. Anyways, after I told him my weight he suggested going with stronger springs, heavier oil, gold valves etc. I asked for ohlins components and he gave me a max quote of $1300 for labor and parts. From what I have heard it's worth the price. Plus u get free track setup every where he is at! I may come down to houston early spring so not only you'll hear from me but I may let you try them!

@Romans: versah rjl front brake pads ($75x2 )
Ebc double H pads ($45)
Goodridge carbonlines front and back ($50) got me a good deal on those!
It was worth the cash though... I went for ride in twisty territory and I don't have that sponge feeling when I brake hard anymore and for some reason the bite is different, before it felt like the front rotor was still spinning fast before coming to a full stop which made the rear light easily now it's soooo progressive and linear that you'd really have to "try" to lift the rear wheel. I came from 60mph to a full stop and almost told myself:"damn it feels like abs" looooool. Oh and no matter how hard you squeeze the bite is smooth. I'm gna take a look at the old pads tomorrow and see how worn they were. Cause this sounds to good to be true. Then again there is a thread somewhere here where the power of the versah pads is discussed. I even think you took part in it Romans!

I'm with you there Dragking, KHI rarely backs up in the HP department, (a notable exception, they lost a few HP in '08 on the ZX-14) so the new bike, mod for mod should be able to out grunt the old one. Many times though, they change directions when they introduce a new model and it may not be well received if they tamper with a winning formula too much. I can think of a lot of examples of this. Think of the first generation ZX-10R, it was an extreme track based machine and won every shootout on the planet including Masterbike in 2004 and 2005. It was hard hitting, light weight, wheelie prone and had nervous, borderline schizophrenic handling. Everyone loved it! In 2006, KHI went for a more broadband approach, softened the wild power delivery while adding a couple ponies way up top, stretched wheelbase, reduced rake and trail and added weight, never a good thing. The result was a faster but duller machine that, while better suited to the general public, lost that hard core cult following. Don't know about the direction the new ZX-14 has gone but the suspension changes sure sound good. That's my biggest complaint when trying to hustle my big girl down a twisty farm road, she starts to come unraveled if you push the pace to hard.

One thing I don't get..... The 14 isn't meant for tiny guys but they went with cheap suspension. They are made for 175lbs guys but how did they come to that average... Oh wait I know European and japanese guys! For anybody above 200lbs I think susp upgrades are a must. I set mine really stiff but sometimes I'll take a curve and it feels like I don't have a front end: SCARY!
If you're using your zx 10 for track a lot you should consider doing susp ugrade on that first... Dave M. Claims that the shock on those is less than ideal and they are tons of options for the zx 10 from bimota to racetech! It'll be like getting a new bike!!

Oh and I agree with you, I kinda like the brutality of first gens: zx-10, zx-12 etc... It's like the moto gp 500cc, way more dangerous but way more fun. It's like taming a lion, knowing the thing can bite anytime, and reinforce the idea of mind vs matter.
