Deal or no deal?
10/14/11 12:21 PM

Went to my friend the dealer today and he offered me $7500 for my bike. No freight, prep or any bullshit charges, $7300 + tax for the new 2012 SE bike, or $8,000 with 5 year warranty. Think I should jump on it? Obviously I would be giving him my bike as it is, all done up. Thinking about it hard! What do you think? Good deal or pass it up?

If that deal is for real I'd jump on it but I highly doubt it's for real.

Snuffy- My bike does have a ton of "extras" on it but I can hook you up. I deal with LI Kawasaki and if you are serious let me know and I will make the introduction. No finders fee neecessary, glad to hook up a fellow rider. I will be going down there Monday to make my deal, if you are interested let me know and I will meet you there.

@ Seno. If you have the $8000 in cash why not? But if you're going to finance it I would say it's not a good deal. With all the mods you have I'll be surprised if you can ride the 14R for a while without wanting to mod it. Monthly payments plus mods???? I don't know I may be saying because I'm broke! loool

At least wait for some trusted source to come up with real hp and tq numbers.

I have a few k for pipe, pc5, Auto tune, filter, screen and block off plates. Those i will have done and pay cash for before I pick it up (like the last bike, was about $2300 in mods cash). I was offered 3.9% for 60 months with no early payment penalty, last bike I had a 7k loan and payed it off in 6 months. I have a lucrative side business and have nice chunks of cash coming in monthly, so money is not an issue. Wife tells me to go for it (she wants the green one), but I had the green light and did not sign today... Really want this bike but my bike is flawless and fast as hell. I don't think I'll get a better offer for my bike and this one is a great deal.... really got me thinking hard about it. Thanks for your input, it is appreciated!

OK!! Bit the bullet, got a black one coming in. Gave them my bike & financed 8K TOTAL that includes taxes, transfer plates, 4 year warranty... Out the door. Having Steel lines done (brakes Front & rear, clutch), 16/43 Vortex sprockets, Muzzy M14 Full system, double bubble dark smoke windscreen, still waiting to hear from Dynojet on PCV, and a Race filter (K&N or BMC). Dealer said it would be about $400 to install extras above. I can turn wrenches too but it's nice when there is any question or problem to say you installed it, fix it. Besides I am very good at stripping stuff, LOL.
BTW, Hooked up Snuffy and from what I understand they are going to treat him well (No charge for freight/prep/and give him as much as they can on trade in). It pays to be loyal to 1 shop if they do the right thing, as far as I am concerned there is no better shop in LI,NY than Long Island Kawasaki. If anyone is local and needs anything please let me know, I would be glad to introduce you to them. They have been my go to shop for 20 years, literally.

Good Job Seno! You're going to break her in before you do the mods right? It's nice to have the parts before you get the bike. If I can help it, this is how I'm going to do it with my new bike. Akrapovic exhausts, PC, Filter and all that good stuff. Congrats! It was really nice of you to hook Snuffy up!

I am happy to help out anyone that rides, no thanks necessary it was my pleasure. As far as the mods go, I am going to have them all done before I pickup the bike. The real question is when I will decide to pick it up, it does not make sense to get it then have it sitting in a garage all winter while the warranty is ticking away. Want to have the rims chromed, and the pipe ceramic coated.... Just have to decide which pipe is best. That's where I am at currently, Muzzy pipe on hold ATM but gave them enough to cover all the add on parts already.

You may wanna wait for the pipe Seno! Brock is saying 3% gain in hp with the 14R and that he'll probably won't get to work on it till January.

Go for it. I would but only have 8k on my 08. Wife would flip. I'll wait until I can pick up a gently used one like my 08. Like how people buy it because it's the newest and the baddest it scares the crap out of them then they sell cheap. That's when craigslist is your friend!!!

Snuffy, I beat Zeus up and got another $500 off..... Just a FYI incase you are going through him. He bitched and whined but I told him for the difference in price it was worth it to drive 2 hours up to Troy,NY. So when all was said & done got the new bike for around $13,200, added 4 year warranty $700, and NYS tax makes it like 15 out the door. Made a good deal even better
