Just wondering why you say the pr3's won't keep up with the arm? I've ran them with my stepup since febuary and put over 9k miles on a set. Give I live in northern cali and temps range anywhere from 45- 100 degrees plus. I've had no issues with grip or stability. I commute about 500 miles a week and hit the twisting roads on the weekend. Sometimes even 2 up. No issues with edge grip or wear. My buddy runs the shinkos on his streatched bike. Its an 06 with built motor close if not more hp than my 012. He doesn't hit the twisty stuff as hard as I do tho. The shinko has a similar profile as the pilot rd 3 . It does heat up faster and have better grip in a strait line. Will wear faster also than the pr3. Has decent twisty grip but not as good as the pr3. I also ran the shinko on my stretched zx10. Felt it was great for strait line or drag raging. Not as good on the twisty stuff. Just my experiences. I do 5-10 track days on my zx10 so I've tried a lot of diffent tires, pilot powers, q2's, q3's , bridgestones b16, s20s ect. Run the Pirelli super bike slicks on the track. All are good tires , but for my riding style and tire wear the since I do use commuting duties on both bikes, I find the bridegstone s20's and pilot road give me the best grip and tire life so far. Granted I probably ride the zx10 a lot harder sometimes cause its easier to and set up better as far as suspinsion goes. Also I'm only about 185 suited and geared up. I've also had to ride in rain, fog, and damp cold, Mornings to 80-90 degrees in the afternoon. Just some of my experiences.

Hello gentlemen,
On everyday riding, and semi aggressive dial in inputs the PR3 holds up very well. I really enjoyed the tire on my stock set up too. Whaaaaa! I ride very aggressively! I do mad burns from the line where I smash the throttle and I also carve at 220km and up! I have noticed that the tire is breaking out and drifting under massive acceleration! As I read you gentlemen I've come to the conclusion that perhaps every bike tire might crumble under these conditions. I though a single compound, sticky might hook up better then the PR3 under aggressive throttle input. I've not tried slicks or semi slick or shinkos yet and perhaps I'll be disappointed.
The temps here are 4 - 14 degrees ish, last night I was riding in the cold and I was drifting that tire. Those are my two cents!!!
Sigh!

Sorry bro I didn't check the forums yesterday. I run the 003A which is the Hook-Up and it def isn't as confidence inspiring as a pilot power or even the factory Metzelers in the twisties. It has a much flatter profile for a greater contact patch at the 1320 which means that when you roll off onto the sidewalls it falls off really quick. The bike will step out and snatch hard because it's so soft. Hardened carvers won't be scared of course but it's not something that you would wish to repeat very often I assure you. I can't remember if the standard 003 Stealth has a taller center profile than the Hook-Up so I suppose I'm not much help Wolfbro. As far as straight line performance is concerned, the Hook-Up is unbeatable in the street tire realm.

Truthfully all the top rated sport street race tires , pilot powers, q2's, q3's , s20's are great for smashing and are great for grip and agressive rideing, but tire life Is short. Best I've seen is around 3-6k miles on the rear and 5-7k on the front. Cold weather riding is iffy at best. Tires just dont heat up enough for good grip. The shinko is a great tire in a straight line. Cant get any better gripper tire. Lacks cornering grip tho. Pr3 have been the best al around tire I've found so far. The conti attack I herd was also a great tire but the pr3 is priced better.
