Best place to order replacement radiator?
06/22/09 9:54 AM

Just returned from an awesome trip through Yellowstone and surrounding areas. Put about 2000 miles on the bike in 9 days. Had a small puncture in the radiator, which we patched. Looking for a new radiator, but I'm seeing prices north of $600 on the Internet websites that sell OEM Kawasaki parts. It appears to be made by Denso, but does not appear to be for sale from their website (maybe they sell them to Kawasaki only).

Anybody know where I can get a new radiator for a better price than this?

I'll keep an eye on eBay. No hurry, I guess, as the repair seems to be holding up fine.

Thanks! -bg

(Lot's of people talk about Beartooth Pass. I found that it had mostly very tight corners -- might be better for a liter bike. There WAS a fantastic stretch of road on the way up to West Yellowstone. Very smooth surface, great visibility ahead, and VERY high speed, long sweeping turns. Could have taken them at MUCH higher speeds if I'd had more guts, but it was a blast! And another good stretch between Yellowstone and Beartooth Pass...)

Well I was gonna say Ron Ayers... however.... $620....OUCH!

I'd search for a used one.

Sorry about the rad mishap BG. No rad guard…like the Cox hey?

Hopefully, something will come your way off of E-bay. Yes, $620...OUCH indeed!

Any pics of the trip BG? Sounds like you had a fantastic time other than the rad mishap.

$605.43

MRCycles is the cheapest OEM parts I've found. But still, not earthshaking. The savings in fairing prices was significant.
Longish time in shipping too.

I got a good price for a new radiator for a Z1000 from Waynesville Cycle.
It was about 25% less than OEM.
