Me:" I'm going on vacation"

me: " forget Hawaii, I'm going to an Island called Isle of Man, it's waaay more better than Hawaii:
them: "that's nice, big deal. What's so good about that? An island is an island"
me: "no, you don't get it. I'm going to the Isle of Man during race week"
them: "so you are going to fly to an island just to watch some race. Why?
Me: "it's the TT!"
them "what's a TT?"

I just had to tell someone that can appreciate a vacation to the Isle of man for race week. I don't mean to gloat
but I'm flying out tomorrow and am super excited. My dream vacation. Going alone since nobody I know gives
a crap about motorcycles. To bad for them. If they only knew how bitchen motorcycles are. and about the most bad ass
race ever on the Isle of Man.

Awesome!! Going solo also means you dont have to ask if the others want to eat now or later, watch from a certain vantage point, explain anything to anyone else (as you said) or even enjoy the uK / European knowledge of such an amazing place!
Definitely on my bucket list, good on ya to go! I bet the bench racing in the pubs afterward is amazing as well... and you will get to learn to interpret their lingo!

Lucky dog! I didn't think it was even possible to get to the TT without reservations many years in advance. Maybe you did that. If I had the dough (I'm sure it costs a few) that would be in my top five vacation destinations. Hope you get to ride the course but to be honest, I think I might be too scared. I hear the public riding of the course results in a lot of serious wrecks and some deaths.

Wrong-O, Greenie! The public is invited to risk their necks after the pro races have concluded. You can go out and get yourself killed on the IOM during race week and it's nobodies fault but your own.

Actually, I would ride the course sensibly but I would be afraid of a lot of the other crazies who would be out on the road going as fast as they think they can.

Good luck, from the videos I've seen during race week there's a giant parade of people driving around the coarse, you might get out of 2nd gear.

I'd love to go, but 1) Ain't got no time right now, this year anyway, and 2) I wouldn't have a clue how to start planning for it, where/how to make reservations, where to land, how to get on to the island, where to stay, etc etc ... How'd you figure it?? Are you kinda wingin' it? Or did you get some clues from somebody with experience?
