My bike sounds like it has a miss during idle. Could it have a miss? It has 1013k on it.

My gen 1 sounds like it misses a beat at idle. It is not rough idling, its just not a regular beat 100% of the time. It is the normal way it idles. duma-duma-duma-duma-dum-bada-dum-bada-dum-duma-duma-duma.... if that helps at all a while back, Kruz also said his does this.

I have always wondered why the engine does that.Seriously.I know what you all are saying....it does sound like a miss....only at idle.Anyone know what it is?I could 'guess' it may be mapping,or timing,or both at idle....IDK.It's a teensy blip...ya....I stopped worrying about it...It never was 'noticeable' enough to get worried about.I have a very smooth idling engine right now.Seems to be fine.I wouldn't even notice it if I wasn't tuned in for it...like most of us.Probably nothing TRC....maybe call Kawasaki USA in Irvine,Ca and ask their guy there? He's helped me a few times with questions.Good question BTW.

Video the idle. Blip it, but try not to go over 200 rpm, but blip it less in rpm. Let it come back to idle. With your ears, you hear it, then set the camera's audio near it. It's either PAIR or sync, or the auto-idle unit. Pin the tail on the donkey without some sounds.

My bike lopes a bit at idle. I attribute that to the high performance nature of the engine.
I do get a slight hunting of idle speed which makes me curious.
I recently did a satisfaction survey with Kawasaki and I mentioned these characteristic in the survey.

Until I get mine to refine the tune, this sounds like the auto-idle system. Lots of hunt if one cylinder is more efficient than say another. Then, it could be the air screws if they apply. See any air screws under the throttle body like old style 14?
First, get this out of the way. Take a small mirror and start looking under the body. That is one variable to the no idle cable anymore.

There is an idle screw adjuster.....set at the factory....some guys already messed with it...I wouldn't advise it....remember as Fowvay said...the engine has been reingineered with more 'agressive' cams. There could be several possible simple reasons why our motors are idling like they do.There are times when mine stays dead on rpm at idle...most of the time actually.HOWEVER.....at certain times...the idle will 'barely' hunt for a millisecond or two....maybe a couple of times during a one minute idle time.I would say...could be temps...maybe fuel quality....ambient temps?IDK.Fuel quality is iffy at best...who knows what's in that underground fuel tank we're going to?I mean...really...you don't know.A bit of water....who knows?Mine's doing okay...99 percent of the time...she's idling very smooth. It did this from day one...the idle thing.I'm not positive cause I haven't read up on it in the manual much..but isn't our idles on this new bike vacuum related someway? And there's a valve that controls the idle rpms?I think so.There's some sort of 'sensor' I think going to that valve...maybe that's all it is...vacuum pressure fluctuating. The motor IS a new design.

Really didn't notice it until after I installed CT Duals and a PC5. But this thing sounds like a cammy mutha. It reminds me of a small block chevy V8 when it's sitting at a light. I think it's the nature of the beast.

Waiting to recieve my back ordered CT Duals along with PC5 and Street Map. Any issues with low speed/RPM hunting or surging with your current map? Overall how's your experience with your CT/Street map setup? I believe Brock has a "new" Street Map available to address ssid issues.
Did you recieve a new street map Grn? I know this was one of the issues you had when you had your system on you bike. Ever decide to reinstall your kit?
