Rear Hugger C/F or painted. Where ???
06/23/09 5:17 AM

Hi Guys;

If anyone has a good dependable source for a rear hugger in either carbon fiber or pained (Atomic Silver)please post up. I'm getting a little tired of cleaning the undertail and rear shock assy'.

Also, could you tell about the fit and finish, price, or anything else that would apply. I'd prefer not buying off of Flea Bay as I have still not updated my ancient pay pal account.

Thanks in advance !!

I have the one from powerbronze. The fit was excelent and straightforward. It's carbon fiber look with aluminum mesh inserts. I painted the mesh inserts red.

Bet the red mesh looks nice !

Will be getting one of those with silver mesh soon, and the front fender too. My 08 is metallic midnight saphire blue, so leaving the mesh silver and it will match the mesh in my cf lower belly cowling pieces.

So far, I've found carbon fiber huggers at powerbronze, and on iTail's online store, one or two of there hugger brands have carbon fiber versions for the ZX-14.

I'm going to go with powerbronze, because I know they sell a good product. And the price is fair too.

I just ordered a color matched rear hugger from custompartssuperstore on ebay. It wasn't listed but they can get any custom part or make it just contact them through their listings on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330341389821QQssPageNameZMERC_VIC_RCRX_Pr3_PcY_BIN_IT&refitem=330339685511&itemcount=3&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m183&_trkparms=algo%3DCRX%26its%3DS%252BI%26itu%3DUCI%252BSI%26otn%3D3
I got my smooth painted foreman grill panels from them and they matched the paint on my bike perfectly. prices are reasonable.

I like the gear from these guys

http://www.geelongcarboncraft.com.au/store/cart.php?target=search&substring=ZX14

I have the small tank protector and the rear hugger.

BEWARE: if you use a 190/55 profile rear, you are likely to damage the hugger. it is thin and the when the tyre picks up some little pebbles, they will scratch and split the hugger I'd rather have a 180/55, so when I replace the tyre I'll replace the hugger with another CF from Geelong

They make great quality. I have a Powerbronze dash and I much prefer teh look and quality of the Geelong product...

Ouch, $455. plus shipping for a C/F. I only paid about 2 bills including shipping for my colormatched hugger which also looks better IMHO. To each his own.

For $455 they can eat the corn from my crap first.

That's insane. I found a C/F for $240 elsewhere but even that $$ hurts.

$180 or less for a painted hugger including shipping.

THis link will take you to the ebay seller. email them they have them. I just ordered one myself. The other painted fairings I ordered from them matched perfect to my oem paint.
