Tank Bag, which, where, Please?
12/28/15 1:27 AM

Hi Guys, I have a pair of Givi Pannier bags,
They are real nice but to lane filter i prefer a tank bag with my top box.

I cant find any reasonably priced tank bags,
Has anybody found a tank bag that fits for a reasonable price please?

Many thanks in advance
Hugs Miss Maddy

Maddy, I use a large magnetic tank bag. There are many brands out there. Never had it fall off even at triple digit speeds.

Wow Grn, thats a big bag, good idea thanks.

Hi Mad, i was worried as standard tank bag magnets seem to be where the plastic bit is at the front, is that a problem or do you modify the magnet bit ?

Thanks lots
Miss Maddy.

That Bags Connection bag looks like a good idea, looks large, and is 'acceptable' looking, IMO ... but it looks like it can come in contact with the bike's paint ... which would not be OK with me.

Also, there are some things that bother me about cloth storage over hard storage: Not as waterproof. And soft luggage just 'looks' like a thief could just snag it quick right off your bike, just by cutting the straps. I think (hope) my hard luggage would put up a better fight than that

It has a waterproof cover that can be put over it.It comes with two nice paint protector(clear)strips.I didn't need to use em...the attached bag is very secure.I hadn't seen any scuffing at all.It unsnaps easily and without needing any strap removal.Carry it like a gym bag. It's very cool. And big volumewise. It only looks a bit bulky cause of the pic angle.

Reasonable? no, it's all over priced.

I've always used magnetic tank bags, but on this bike I've
been using tank ring mount bag daily for about 2 months and I'm very
impressed with it. I'm really picking about about even getting
the slightest scratch/swirl in my clear coat and this keeps the bag off the tank.

Even easier to use then a magnetic bag. Put on and take off with one hand.

Tank Bag Thread..

I'd definitely buy again.

I use a cortech super 2.0 18L bag that strap mounts. I wish I had the magnetic mount, but got a great deal on the strap.

GREAT BAG. Not one complaint.

Happy New Year Maddy. My magnetic bag sits to the rear of the plastic part of the tank cover. so the magnets
have plenty of metal to stick to. I actually have 2 magnetic bags, one large and one small. Haven't had any
trouble with either.

Two years ago I purchased a magnetic MotoCentric Mototrek 19 Tank Bag. It also have a strap base mounting option. Never had a problem at high speed. It's on sale for $59.00 right now....

I have an old EXIL tank bag I bought used on Fleabay. Tried a couple of smaller bags, but they wouldn't hold all my stuff. Main compartment hold rainsuit, spare faceshield, spare gloves, sunglasses, ballcap, and raincover. Will hold more when expanded, like when you need a place to put an extra sweatshirt/hoodie. Left side pouch holds sidestand puck, spare batteries fo headphone, small flashlight and other small bits. Right side pouch contains bungees, bungee net, spare carabiners and helmet lock extenders. Rear pouch is for faceshield spray and microfiber cloth. I added the map pocket on top which also holds the Ipod and remote, connections for radar detector and phone, and the registration and insurance cards.

I'm always on the lookout for a replacement, since this one is getting pretty ragged. I like this one:
