Anyone more information regarding the upgrades for the 2012 14 and maybe a guestimate of the release date? I had a direct confrontation with a car driver and my bike is a total write off, so I am in the market for a new bike in plus minus 2-3 months.

Haven't heard any conf as yet. Just a rumor. Been hearing that same rumor for the last 3 years. Kinda doubt it will happpen. Give it another 4-5 years, they will have a new hyperbike.

Here we go again. There is at least one thread that covered this in detail that search would find. Only the year changes.

First, that "cover" is photoshopped, and was posted last year as well.

Second, Kawasaki will NOT put R&D dollars into the ZX14 ever again. They are putting 50% of R&D dollars into the ZX10R and most of the rest into the C14.

So the US version might get ABS (nothing new) and maybe even Traction Control (nothing new). But odds are 2012 will continue the 2008-2011 run of changing nothing but paint.

Negative. This weekend the dealers' convention with Kawk they are getting to see pre-production examples of all the 2012 bikes, ATVs, etc.

Shipments to dealers will not begin until late December probably. Possibly no 2012 bikes in showrooms until early January.

And if its a dealer with 2011 versions of whatever they receive of the 2012 vehicles, I promise you the 2012 vehicles will sit in the crates they come in, for a while, so the sales staff can try to move the 2011s out.

a) There is only so much room on the showroom floor, and 2011 stuff has to go to make room.
b) Crates store easy in the back room, they don't have to be opened any time soon.
c) If it was my showroom, I'd move some ATVs outside and put the 2012s beside the 2011s, and JACK THE PRICE UP ON THE 2012s to differentiate and cause sales of the 2011s.

Sure someone might go a different dealer, who has a bigger showroom, and put the 2012s out, but if that smaller dealer doesn't get the 2011s sold first, its going to hurt them. More than having someone go to the next town over to get a 2012 ZX14. A lot more.

Possible the mega-dealer in Texas will get a couple before January 2012. A few places like that.

you sure know how to rain on a parade... I'm sure some were hoping to have one by the end of next week... Right on point IMO... But which "mega dealer" are you referring to? I'd drive a bit to get a good look at one and talk to the stealer, maybe pick up some literature, etc. I'm not in the US again until just before Thanksgiving, so maybe someone will have a better idea of when they might have one to check out. At least by the time I get there, the internet should have plenty of info... whether it be true or not is another story.

I'd like to know too.... which mega-dealer. if it's within three hours of Austin, I'm riding down there to check it out.

Actually two are rumored to be having 2012 C14s within weeks, according to the COG forum. In order to receive 2012 bikes that early, they'd have to be one of the top few dealerships in the country in sales.
