2012 ZX-14R vs 2023 Hayabusa
08/26/23 7:58 PM

My bike - 2012 ZX-14R. Brocks Alien Head 2 full exhaust, 2wheeldynoworks ECU flash, stock air filter with screen removed, stock gearing. Hayabusa - 2023, Yoshimura full exhaust, Chris Moore ECU flash, different velocity stacks, Sprint air filter, 2 up on the rear sprocket. Highway - Absolutely no traffic, no towns nearby, and no houses or farms nearby. 2nd gear roll on at 40 mph. When we were done, I slowed down and he pulled up beside me. He pointed at my bike, grabbed the bottom of his helmet and pulled down on it which meant "hats off to your bike."

When we finally got to one of our destinations, he walked over to me and said "You pretty much walked away from me just like you did when I had my BMW S1000RR."

A good win for Kawasaki. I've never lost a roll on race with this bike. Hayabusa's, other 14's, V-Rods (whoopee - not even close). I get these younger guys that want to try me. I feel like a retired gunfighter. Someone always thinks they're faster (which I'm sure there is someone out there that is) and they want the reputation.

I'm 68 years old now and I think I'm done doing this. (Maybe). I just want to retire undefeated.

Nice post and way to represent. I've had similar experiences especially against my friend with a 2022 Busa. I get the jump and just keep pulling away from him. Another friend of mine with a 2017 GSXR 1000 was getting beat down until he decided to stretch his bike. Now he gets the jump and keep pulling me. I'm trying to find a way to turn the tables back around....maybe a 16/45 combo will do it since we only top out at 180 MPH. Oh BTW...I was stretched at one time but after a few months I decided to return back to SWB and I couldn't be happier.

Same experience here. My neighbor has a 2023 Hayabusa with Yoshimura slips,Moore mafia tune, Sprint filter and CF moto Velocity stacks. My 2013 14R has 2WDW flash, Muzzy slips, and BMC filter. I pull on the Hayabusa like it’s my job every time.

No surprise. Suzuki had a golden opportunity to create a Hayabusa that would redefine hyperbike and they left the world in disappointment. They gave in. They made a bike that's worse instead of better.

I believe I read they refined the bike to customer wishes. The worse thing you can do is say you keep beating any year busa with the 14. Should have said, you got beat no matter how much hot rodding you did to the bike, it couldn't beat the busa.

We'd have a fucking faster bike buy now, but nooooooooo, you had to leave that piece of shit in the dust.
