Okay.....OKAY!!!!!!(not that anyone gives a shi^...but)....I have decided. The stock screen stays ON....IMO....the best performing screen for our bikes. There's no getting around the fact that the design is perfect for the various riding parameters for our bikes.I've tried several.....the stock screen gives the best stability, smoothness, and handling characteristics of the several I've run.VERDICT: she's a keeper
With the stock screen..I would have to say...the faster one travels through the space/time continuum, the more planted and grippy the frontend feels.Transitions from right to left are much quicker and solid than the aftermarket "designs" I've wasted my money on.The MRA Touring is a close second....but still falls behind.
A mild to medium tuck at higher velocities will alleviate any buffeting(which is minimal at best),and will cause the rider to feel much more connected to the motorcycle. The screen profile allows the rider to get a better visual perspective of the road in front of the vehicle, and is low enough to allow the lip to not interfere with visual cues ahead.Looking through the turn is much less cluttered than a higher profile screen.Body positioning while entering and negotiating a curve is much easier to achieve because the cockpit of the motorcycle appears to be more "at one" with the rider.Bar inputs seem more fluid, frontend tracking is extremely solid and smooth, and helmet position in the airstream actually creates a stabilizing factor in the feel of the frontend, only increasing with speed. The faster I go,the faster I WANT to go.This is good. While turning, there is building desire to remove one's hands from the handlebars...this is where a throttlemeister comes in so well.
This week's report....complete .
