Got My ZX Replacement

Well, for now any way. She'll hold me off until I decide what to do. Really wanting to check out the new BMW liter bike, as well as the new R1.

Picked up a 2003 Suzuki TL1000R in Fresno last Wednesday evening. Always wanted one. It only had 2440 miles! The bike had so few miles it wasn't really broken in. She is now. Rode from California to a buddy's place in Reno and rode around there for a few days. Then set out 1700 miles or so for home.

I was hoping it would have a bit more power, but she's stock and she's over geared. Won't do a lick over 150 corrected MPH. Won't even pull to the redline in 5th, much less sixth. More realistic gearing, a nice 2:1 exhaust, a PC and a custom tune should help. The bike is much more comfortable than I had anticipated. Did over 860 miles Monday without too much problem.

Never owned one of them V2 puppies, but I can tell you, they sound intoxicating. I still want a V-twin.
BTW, nice pics

That V2 was a well developed bike. Beautiful engineering. I tore one down. It had some sort of problem. Rebuilt it from the cases up. Cam timing threw me off and tagged some valves. Bye the time that bike was off the rack, it just rode different.

Running wise I mean, that engine was glass smooth. I think my road test was that I smashed the throttle hard so I could break it before I handed it back to the owner.

Steven is right. That engine pitch sounded the best at peak rpm. So I used to wheelie just about everyone I serviced. They were so easy to lift.

Yeah, so every time the V2 owner would stop by or hang out on the weekend, I'd always hear about how well the bike was doing. Oh and, that 1000 Liter Beemer? Yeah, if you can find one.

Brochure you want one? Brochure, I'd be in the back, asking to see the FSM. Wad kind of pile is sitting there now that needs somespecialass tool you can't tear that thing down in the pits like you can the 14.

I'd take a hard look at that 1000 before I track bike that wee near shits sale.
