I’m going to replace my 08’ C14ABS with a ZX14ABS. In the purchase process, are there any options I need to avoid or options I’d be crazy not to get? Is there much difference between model years 2018-2020?

I believe the only options are SE special edition or not and I dont know if Kawi is currently offering a SE model. The "options' happen after you buy it, 1st mod is usually toss the pumpkin chuckers for either slip ons or a full system

The different between 2020 and 2018/2019 models is that 2018/2019 actually exist!

No technical difference between 2018 and 2019.

2018: SE and non-SE models offered. SE model had two color options (black/gray/orange and dk. gray/green).
2019: Only SE model offered. Only one color option (med. gray/green).

Things like pistons, rods, cranks, have different part numbers throughout the connie production run, meaning, only the casting marks on the cylinder/case knows if it remained 1352cc or bumped up to 1441cc's. Option wise an OEM centerstand would help maintenance wise. Some buyers prefer color making the deal or the price makes the deal if looking at it another way. Either bike remains equal in performance, or suspension [SE] bumps the price up for shocks, steel lines, performance front brake master. ABS is standard between models.

No word on the 2020. The zx10 is brand new for 2020, meaning, the next gen 14 is in need of a change anyway. You can throw the dice and see if there is a new model change or buy a leftover at a better price.
