new and wanted to say hello
03/10/19 9:50 AM

So I just joined the forum and wanted to say hello to all. As my user name suggests I am a former Hayabusa owner. I sold my beloved bike last year after 12 years and 60k miles of pure love. I have not yet purchased a new bike yet but am probably going to get a new zx14 in the next month or so. No hurry since its still so cold yet. Ive never owned or even rode one before but I like what I have read about them. Sat on one the other day at a dealer and I was really surprised at how much more comfortable it actually was.

Howdy and welcome to the forum! You'll like it here--lots of friendly folks and really excellent advice. You will LOVE the ZX14R--an all-round great bike--not out-of-date by any means. I think you'll be surprised how powerful it is--even compared to the Busa. Good luck!

Thanks a bunch. Looking forward to picking some brains on the 14. You are right about the ole bus being out of date. It really breaks my heart because the busa is an amazing machine. I had an 06 g1 and put a 1397 kit in it with brock exhaust etc. It put out great numbers. 195hp and 120ft of torque but honestly i was ready for something new and I just didnt want to put any more money in a bike that was designed in 1999. A testament to the machine but zuk is taking too long to come out with a gen 3 even if they do bring one out next year. I just want to try something else. Besides either way the 14 was more comfy to sit on so im good. Im just gonna have to use a lot of restraint in order to weight till next year to add the Brock exhaust etc to it. Especially since his shop is like 10 minutes away from me.lol

Yep!! Pay attention to chrly when he mentions "restraint"---it takes great willpower. Seems the ZX14 gods want you to spend lots of $$$$ on an already too fast bike!! :-) :-)

We've been saying that for years, haven't we?

I own both 08 busa and 08 ZX-14. If I were to start all over I'd go with the latest and the greatest. I have given up on a new busa. By the time it happens, you will have built whatever you own into something much cooler.

Well I went and picked up an 18 se model and brought it home yesterday. Im at work so I cant get a pic uploaded. bummer. Not smart enough I guess. In any case I am definitely in love. Cant wait to take it out for a ride. Never rode one before so Im excited. Have a lot to learn about it and I can see that there are a lot of resources here so Im glad for that. Looking forward to taking it down to the dragon this year and see how it feels compared the the busa. Got to get rid of the reflectors though...lol

Good Day! New to the Forum
03/30/19 6:52 AM

Hi new to the forum Just got yesterday a 2014 ZX14R mint with power commander 5 2 brother fiber carbon exhausts
& quick quick shift kit Full ECU re-flash racing Pazzo adjustable levers all led lights etc & all original parts.Only has 23000KM. Been riding for 38 year Just sold my 2000ZX12R put 130000Km on that bike so I did ride it & never droped it. I also have a 2007 hondaVTX1800T also all done up Bat wing 300Watt stereo pipes MTC clutch KIt & much more. Being fortunate to now the VTX1800 & ZX14R it is fantastic to switch back & fort. When I was going from the VTX1800 to the ZX12R never a dull moment. Now that I am 54 & I am in top physical shape & put work into it. I always thought it was important to do this. As I want to ride for as long as I can & have a quality of life as I get older. My god father in France had a Italian motorcycle dealership for 60 year in Dijon yes where they make the mustard. He rode big bore super Sport until he was 85 yrs old died at 101 in his sleep beat that. He was fully active until he died at is 100 birthday. There was a party were 300 Bikers showed up he sill had no issue to easily get on a bike with no help for some picture I am aiming for that. Myself I have ridden over 700 000KM in 38 on the street.
