Ohter than looking like solid gold (I love gold...), what's the advantages over stock? Lighter? Stronger? etc...

What's the factors in choosing these vs. cf wheels?

VERY < VERY NICE! I never heard of OZ wheels. Italy sure has a booming high perfprmance wheel industry, don't it? Carrazzeria, Marchecini, now OZ?

Very nice. Could you please weight them?

Oh, pleasae do.

Nasty, sorry bro but there not for sale.. I'll be powder coating them and putting them up in case I ever need them again..

thought the same thing. I doubt I will ever switch between stock and my CZ wheels. No real benefit to stock wheels. It might be worth it to switch over to stock to have a set of touring/commuting tires but then you ought to swap over the sprocket as well. Too much fiddling around for me. It's a good idea to keep the OEMs for resale though.

what's the advantages over stock? Lighter? Stronger? etc...

Lighter for sure. Stronger...? I doubt that. Strong enough as long as you have your tires inflated properly for street riding.

What's the factors in choosing these vs. cf wheels?

Appearance and price were the deciding factors for me. CF is lighter...at least lighter than Marchecicni or Carrazzeria. BST CF wheels are about $4k a set. You might get CZ for about 2500 at 58cycle. They had that deal a couple years ago anyway. BST also has exceptional balance and shape for moment of inertia which is something else (other than weight) that improves wheel performance.

Yes wheels will be weighed without tires and with.. Against the OEM wheel and I'll put the recommended air pressure for OEM wheel in both sets...

Deciding factor for OZ Piega wheels vs any other wheel was price, style and quality , even though CZ wheels are cheaper I read too many negative reviews on them and the difficulty in changing tires with CZ.
Cf Wheels are to expensive and not much bling factor for me it looks like a black wheel 5'away where this will pop at any distance especially with the surf candy blue paint on the 14R !! Price was 2033 with sprocket to my door! The sprocket is the only part I really didn't like since its aluminum but I'll find a steel one eventually....

The wheels are just works of art almost to perfect to put on any bike, the pics do NO justice at all.. I'll see if I can get a video or better pics in the coming days.........

Thanks Rook. I forget the ratio of unspring weight vs. sprung weight in relation to vehicle performance, but I can imagine lighter wheels being significant in acceleration, handlling (easier on suspension to control and direction change). Moment of inertia, I assume that's basically the how the mass is felt. In bowling, ROG (radius of gyration) is a measure from the center point where the mass of the ball is felt. ROG affects the ability to start the ball spinning and for it to maintain that spinning (referred to as stored energy). Balls with lower ROG are easier turn, like a wheel would be, however would also then require more energy to keep spinning. Like a heavy flywheel vs. light flywheel, the lighter flywheel will spin a lot faster but once power is cut will also slow faster. The heavy will take longer to accelerate, but once powr is cut will keep spinning longer.

There's a thread on another forum a guy lightened his 14 and added CF wheels. He weighed each part for lightening and although pretty costly managed to drop quite a bit of weight from it.

I'm going to weight my factory exhaust vs. my new yosh system when I do my write up here. Should be shortly, installing now.

Lighter wheels make a difference for accelleration and braking. For me, taking advantage of the cornering improvement is a bit of a challenge. Sure the bike feels more flickable but with all the torque at hand, I don't think I cornered any faster for quite some time. Along with the reduced wheel weight, you also have more of a chance the tire might slip. At least that's how it felt to me. Overall, I prefer the lightweight wheels to OEM in all aspects of performance but like most mods I've done, they take a little getting used to. It's pretty hard to jump right on the bike and make a definite decision as to how well some things work.

difficulty in changing tires with CZ.

I sure hope not. They were just as easy to install tires with tire irons as OEM but I have not removed them yet. A dremmel with grinding wheel takes care of anything.

One last question is durability. How much less durable would these aluminum wheels or cf wheels be than the stockers?

Those wheels are BEAUTIFUL, like a work of art!!!

On the street would you be able to feel much difference, maybe a little.

Your have reduced mass which will affect the inertia of acceleration and also braking, a little.

The reduced mass also decreases gyroscopic effect which directly relates to steering inputs, a little.

Something you have to take in to account is the type of roads in your area. Here we have a LOT of potholes and frost heave, with lighter wheels the chance of bending or breaking one is higher, probably wouldn't be a good choice for this area.

Would I like to have a set of those wheels, oh HELL YES I would!!!

These wheels are forged aluminum which are stronger and lighter than cast.. But cost way more...

Forging is a solid block of aluminum basically pressed into shape.. We're casting is a bunch of molten alloys poured into a cast.
But it doesn't mean u can't damge then hitting a pot hole

You're right, Carrozzeria are shit - I own em, I can say that.....
Took two sets to get mine right, though the speculation is that they just re-dipped the ones I returned back..... not happy...... They do look nice though.... Nice choice on the OZ... at the time they were more than my carra's, but I think I paid 2500.00ish to the door CDN then... Now I prefer the OZ. I've had a few tire changes on the rims so far and still not so much as a mark on my rims though...., Actually just cleaned them 5 mins ago... here's a pic to compare to the OZ...

Get those on your bike > If they look how I think they will, my carra's will be up for sale and I'll be ordering a set of those....

Wow Ozz wheels looking fine!!! What might those babies run ($$$)? I paid 2500 for my Cara's, beautiful looking rims, but as Beast accurately stated...SHIT! Worst rims ever owned... I actually destroyed a set, went back to stockers and sold em. Currently I am in love with Marsheshini MR7's. Called Italy - not avail for the 14R. Beastie, a gold set would look rad on that beautiful Trbo chariot.

Speaking of a beautiful chariot, your bike looks beautiful my bro. A true work of art in every detail.

Boys...
Mad love,
W

Rear CZ Tri-R: 12 lb, 6.3 oz with steel tire valve, rotor carrier and sprocket nuts.

Front Tri-R: 7 lbs, 5.5 oz without rotor bolts.

Almost identical. I might have you by a couple oz/wheel but I must say, I do like the look of the 5 spoke design better. It also appears stronger than the skinny Tri-Rs.

Thank You for posting the weights, blackpearl.
