@DK: there may be a third option: Bill Duke in the first Predator film, "Oh I got you mother-fer, I GOT you! IM COMMINNNNN!!!"

LOL You're right!

Not offended here.

I'm glad you're not.

Well Bean....you're gonna stir up a hornet's nest ya keep this up!;)

At least not with me. Like I said, I'm ok with using 95 + if you follow the rest of the "safety" procedures on the bike. That means no slip ons, no PCV and NO "liquid" hydrogen in the tire!
It's like religion, some people are always going to be OK with following a few rules and ignoring the others and be surprised when somebody does the same thing but choose different rules (but coming from the same Bible for instance) than theirs to follow. You understand? A couple of years ago, I was watching a documentary about the rate of divorce and cheating in the world. This brazilian chicks said something like this: " French women are slut at least in Brazil when we cheat we don't bring the man to our house, we go to a hotel" bahaahahahahaha!

I believe it's remarkable (bordering on astonishing) that the tone on this issue has been so civil. Not much bashing, no name calling, etc.
Remarkable.
This site, and it's members, have come a long way in a short time.
I'm very proud of you. All of you. Thanks for listening.

I'm surprised to and I like it!
Too bad we lost our two witnesses Stroker and ZX1441.

You Honor Hagrid, I think we have a mistrial!

Nah...they'll be back here....this is too good to let go of like this!LOL!!!!Doncha just LOVE happy endings.I hope they come back.....it's their forum also;)

I can sound pretty accusatory sometimes with my pointed comments...I don't mean to be....hope they didn't think I was saying they were lying...not at all....I hope they find out exactly what caused it..and tell all of us.I'm always throwing stuff out there regarding 'what if"....actually...I don't know shit about stuff....hell...I can't even corner correctly!!!!!

Listen to THIS supposition by Mr Grn....'as bulletproof as these motors seem to be...I am starting to think they may have a few achilles heels that the manual tries to say in an offhand way..to avoid damaging them.Without coming right out and saying....'it's gonna break''.IDK...koo koo idea probably. But still....WHY would a sticker be placed on the tank saying such and such...if it actually didn't matter? That's only one point with this bike. That motor may be more sensitive than most of us believe....??????They do say some interesting little cautions in there.....You also notice...Bean's tank sticker says 95.....here in the US...it's 90(or 91)on that sticker....does THAT make sense?Who knows.I ran a tank of diesel through my Harley one time(accidentally). It ran...but not so good.I couldn't figure out what the hell was happening....then I saw the air filter dripping RED oil....Ya...back in my 'intelligent' days(way back);)

The defendant is released. The jury is excused with the thanks of the court.

RE: octane number... in USA the fuel companies use the research number plus the mechanical number divided by two. Evidently Australia just uses the research number.

Most of the world uses the RON number for rating fuel. I see it at the pumps in Germany when I'm on business. RON is Research Octane Number.

The USA, Canada, and only a few other countries use the AKI or Anti-Knock Index. As Hagrid mentioned, the AKI is achieved by adding the Research Octane Number to the Motor Octane Number and dividing by 2 (RON+MON/2).

Simply, the RON is always 4-5 points higher than the AKI. So, a 95 RON in Australia would be a 91 AKI in the USA.
