Scotts steering damper
08/28/20 9:26 AM

Hi fairly new here and loving this site. I have a Scotts steering damper from another bike I sold 4 years ago that I am going to install on my 2012 ZX14R. Perfect shape so why not use it. I found out that Scotts sells mount kits and the Scotts part # for adapting they're damper to the ZX14R is RM-53-2851. My last ZX14R had a Brocks damper which worked fine but a bit pricey now. The other advantage of the Scotts will work with my Heli bar risers. I will post pictures when I get the Scotts mounted. They are currently not available for 6 weeks, bummer.

Thank you j. I use a Hyper-Pro damper. It's doubtful the damper will ever be needed on the 14 but never a bad idea to have it just incase.

Yes I know Rook but it might as well be used if I have it.

All it takes to appreciate a damper is a hard shift into second or third, getting the frnt wheel off the ground and have a cross wind hit ya..Interesting when the frnt wheel touches down pointing a bit to one side :)

I love my Scott's. Here's some pics of mine on my 2017 - also has Helibar risers. The first pic is just the Scotts mount. The 2nd and 3rd pics are after I moved my GPS over the top of the Scott's using mounts from Adaptiv Technologies. In case your in need down the road they have a very nice mount for that: https://adaptivtech.com/products/adaptivmount-stabilizer-mount-type-s
