You guys are both on to something with the fender stripe taper. I was thinking of something like that myself. Prolly just leave it as is for this year.
My advice on any kind of embellishment is if you saw it and you liked it, copy it exactly if you want to do a quick job. If you saw it on a showbike like the Voodoo Viper bike, it was already figured out what harmonizes best. You can avoid a lot of trial and error...but you miss out on a few discoveries, maybe.

Yo Rook-ya-looks GREAT!!Good Job!That vinyl's hard to get on there right.
I started at the fender and it took me at least eight hours to do. I redid the fender and had it done in half that time. It takes a while but once you get the idea of how to stretch it and lay it down over and over so it molds to the right shape, it's worth while. The best tip I have is to do it in the sun on a clear, hot day. The vinyl will stretch like nobodies business. Use a hair drier to really soften it up when you want to pul the vinyl around and under an edge like the tip of the front fender or the back edge of the seat cowl. Also have a cloth to wipe away dust as you lay the vinyl down. I wouldn't try to do the job with the fairings off. It would be too hard to hold them down and stretch at the same time.
