I am a 4 seasons rider and one thing I have noticed since new, my 14R runs abnormally cool when the outside temps drop. Yesterday it was about 40 degrees, and even around town it was running between 140-150. My two other bikes that have digital readouts will run at 176-180, working off the thermostat.

Is this normal for the 14R? Thinking the thermostat may be stuck open. My 08 14 of course had the bar segments so I never seen actual temp.

I purchased it new and the coolant system has never been opened, and it has done this since day one. Getting ready to do a coolant change and just wonder if I need to replace the stat.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you get an overflow at that low of an engine temp. If the bike doesn't feel hot on your legs, the thermostat is probably pretty accurate. It's just cold out.

Yep its normal. Mine runs at 140 when its cool out.

Same. Temp only gets to ~140 riding in 30-40s.
