Hey everybody, just wanted to introduce myself. I have a candy plasma blue '07 completely stock. Soon as I say that lots of owners are thinking rip out the 'flies. But a few years back I rode Ivan's '06, and while it was immediate I just love the smoothness of my stocker. Plus, considering how good it is, it's not a priority.

As you can see by my avatar, I have other ways to satisfy my need for speed.

I also own an original '76 BMW R90S. Only 162 more produced that last year after mine so it's a late model with all the /7 upgrades. It's also stock.

Anyway, just saying hello.

Hi kniterider. Nice car in your avatar. Congrats on the 14 too. I don't think you'd loose any smoothness by removing the flies; you would gain smoothness. I never rode an 06-07 but from what was said, the power came on awfully hard at 6k rpm. If you start to rid ethe bike harder, you'll want to take those out. People seemed to love it. I'm sure you would benefit from a flies out tune. I don't know if there was a danger of running lean with flies out on the 06-07. I have the flies out of my 08 and the throttle control is no more touchy than it was with flies in. It was much smoother where the flies are supposed to open after an AFR adjustment with the flies out. The 08-11s need the fueling adjustment to notice any change with flies out.
