Where is Rook?
10/22/18 9:52 AM

Hello guys/girls
I don't post a lot but I check in every few weeks to see what's going on and I've noticed that Rook has been absent for a couple of months. This is unusual--does anyone know if he's OK?

Thanks,

Yep, Rook is doing just fine. I’ve talked to him several times over the past few weeks.

You pirate! I've been away for sometime as well. Wheres my thread? Oh, I get it: I need to Xerox my nutsack and then the clamoring begins?

WELL... D**** and I still correspond via cell and he is doing quite well. He is supremely focused on his choice of study. The downside is his studies occupy a lion's share of his disposable clock. He still finds time to call hagrid.

Patience shall be rewarded. In Rookie's short-lived absence I, hagrid, will be fielding all HOW TO inquiries/concerns.

My first official act will be to tell 1Fat to crawl back to Oliviér and beg his forgiveness.

Yep--just busy with new teaching job. Lots of work that has nothing to do with teaching art and to tell you the truth, I'm a little stressed over all of this. Rural kids in poverty have many of the problems that urban kids in poverty have. ...but we probably have to dig a little deeper to keep funding which means I have to put some focus on areas outside of teaching art.

Thanks for thinking about me. I'm not giving up on bikes. This forum has been too big of a part of my life for the last 10 years. I can't wait until I get some time to dig into the bikes again.

Next summer will be a summer of riding adventures the likes of which I have never seen. Have $$ and have fast bikes!! Maybe an LSR excursion is in store!!!

Well, I must say I'm surprised and impressed. I would have envisioned you teaching math or maybe shop. I play a little acoustic guitar but that's about the extent of my artsy side.

I'm glad you are finally coming up. I know you stated that you were not doing so well a while back. I went through a rough financial period a while back myself, but I hung on tight to my 14R!

Thats very generous indeed Hag. Thankyou.
I do actually have one for you to start with.

How do we all live in peace and harmony with each other?

Rook, congratulations.

I know you went through some very tough and troublesome times but you are bringing yourself through.
I truly believe that as long as the effort is put in, good things happen to good people and you are a great example.
You should be very proud of yourself.

And even though times were tough you didn't sell your precious 14!

Rook - Now that you've gone all legit and corporate on us , just a suggestion, you might wanna consider removing your, um, body pic(s?). I know this is a somewhat 'rural' site, and old technology so maybe nobody but the 10 of us ever even come here, but it seems like I read something every day about somebody posting something online that comes back to bite 'em in the ass

Glad to hear it sounds like things are goin' good

I'm not sure I'll ever get the internet at home. I hear it's DSL here or nuthin. School internet works well well so I guess I will have to behave. ...which is why I can't read any PMs so sorry if you sent me any.

I'm getting down to business on a set of BST rims for the busa. The Rapid TEK front and rear look like my pick. 8 lbs for a whole rear wheel which is the lightest BST rear they make. Front's 6 lbs. Both have BST's highest strength rating. I'm turboing this puppy some day. Nitrous is still in the works. I'm back on my switch panel project. Final cardboard mockup and then it's time to get cutting and bending on the real thing. It will all work as planned. I've tested the switches and LEDs. ...problem is I kept getting more ideas as I figured stuff out. The Rook Racing CoffinLid will be a reality soon. Then I will start figuring out the whole box that I initially envisioned. That will come some day later.

I'm just a few months away from a hot summer of fast riding. Can't wait.

Got a new 2018 Toyota Tundra with TRD package. White short box with long cab. The old Explorer with 160k miles broke a control arm on me so I had to do it. I haven't driven a new cage since 2002.

Hope everyone is well. I'm coming back on the scene. School's under control more or less!

Glade to hear you are doing well my brother. Nice truck you got there, my daily driver is a Sequoia but not a nice new shiney one like you have.

Thanks, guys. I will show a pic of the truck. It's pretty dirty right now and probably will stay that way for the next couple months. I don't drive it much. I rarely ever need to go anywhere that is not within a 5 minute walk. LOL actually, there is nothing outside of a 5 minute walk so I just stay here!

I dont care about the truck, how many lonely neglected MILFs have you hooked up with? I always looked for the ones who confused abuse with attention - ya cant really go wrong.

There are some retired widows. Other than that, two eligible bachelorettes under 35 that I know of. One of them is taken, both have children. I'll stay single. Really no reason to hook up with a 50+ year old unless she has good SSI or a pension or something. Sad but that is truth. All my romance is for hot bikes and that seems much more worth my efforts.

Tables have turned. Time for the wiminz to start wooing the men or the wiminz get nada. I don't know if they get that but I'm not about to tell.

Well Rudy, for the most part, I don't think the wiminz really care too much anymore either. The root of the matter is that most women want kids and security. After that is achieved it normally lasts a lifetime and so there's not a whole lot more to shoot for. Men on the other hand...we want excitement and adventure which leads to kids and once the kids are there, excitement or adventure are history. At least the kind of excitement and adventure we signed up for. I think if a guy has a good marriage, it all settles into place for both parties. At this point in life, I'm not counting on it, especially not in Winter, WI. If I do, there will be a 7 year plan in place until death due us part.
