Took the "Beast" to California on a two lane from Nevada yesterday. Rode 250 miles, have not taken a long ride in quite some time, and fell in love all over again! I have an 06, and the old girl still puts a smile on my face. Want to be lazy and lug it, go ahead. Want to ride like you're running from the man, go ahead! Most of the day was the lazy leave it in 3rd mode!

Hope yall still get that first time feeling!!!

Ron

I have to agree. Last week had to slab it for a long ride to her future home but the last section is smooth curves in the mountains. Perfect day with no wind to ride across the desert into the mountains. Hopefully she is safely still chained to the steel post in 4-car jumbo cave until I can ride her again. Almost 43 mpg avg over 400 miles, slab was slow as I was following the better half who was pulling the trailer.

Concur on this end. Only mother tea could engineer something with moped manors, or a brute in pursuit of happiness.

I never stop loving my babies! I lust for something new but I'm not giving up the old bikes ever.

Great to hear Rook.
But it wasn't always like that was it?
Remember you were considering otherwise due to circumstance?
But you fought through and here you are with both bikes still in your possession and maybe adding another down the track.

I love a happy ending...

Thanks yannih! Things were rough not so long ago and for a long time before that too. The bikes kept me going and they are still a big source of happiness. ...and this is just the beginning. The fat lady ain't sung yet!

I lust after newer bikes now and then, but at the end of the day, I always find a reason to not pull the trigger. I do want mine to grow a turbo though!! At some point it mot likely will.

An H2 would be welcome also!!

Thanks, Bobby

zxinit, you and me are on the same page! If I could leave this bike alone, I'd have enough money to buy a new bike now but I would rather build on what I already have. Turbo is a must. Gotta have that Gen2 motor too I think.

I am a young 77 yrs old and 6'2" at 220 pounds. The new 1000cc sport bikes are phenomenal but they just don't fit me.
The closest thing I found to my ZX14's was my 2015 K1300HP BMW which is no longer produced and of course there is the Busa which I never liked. I am on my 2nd 2012 ZX14r and I love it.
