Bingo. The old "dress for the slide, not the ride" is my mantra too.

Dress for the slide, you won't need to debride!

You're the ninjafourms seer, yannih!

I had several wakeup calls but I kept playing the odds. That's why I plan to to look for a safer bet like track riding. I still have bigger fish to fry before I even start worrying about bikes too much. It's a little depressing but making time to mess with the bikes would become stressful. I'm at about capacity with the job stuff and it looks like that will get more complicated before it settles down into place. I'm thinking about resigning at the end of this year whether I find a new job first or not. Here we are, mid year and I haven't seen a job that looks interesting yet. Might have to wait until summer after contracts are signed...and as far as I know, I might not even be offered a contract again which would be pretty harmful to my future job prospects. So, quit befpore I get the axe might be the best option.

Bugger.
I wish you really good luck with the situation Rook.
Have a good deep think over some time, try and keep the emotion out of it, and run with the decision.
I know thats sometimes easier said than done.

Just do everything you can to get the best result so you know you gave it everything and have no regrets.
Win lose or draw, what else can you do?

Unless you marry a rich woman.
Now theres an idea!
If you do, I want a 10% idea commission...

I've been thinking it over ever since last summer and never wavered. I wouldn't mind staying but I have no problem breaking camp and moving on. There's a lot more reasons to get out of here than there are to stay. Thanks though yan. I have learned a lot about teaching over the time I've been here, especially this year. I'll take that with me where ever I go. I might stay right here. But they'd have to do quite a lot to restore my confidence and I doubt they even know that.

That doesn't always turn out as good as it sounds!

I went to visit the 14 today. There is a large stain under the bike after sitting the last 9 months. I wiped my finger in it and it seemed about the consistency of motor oil. I know there was some coolant leaking out because I have a cup under the place I saw drops on the floor. I don't know if this large stain is oil or coolant. I suppose coolant would become close to oil consistency if it sat on the floor long enough....or would the water seep into the concrete leaving a more or less dry dark stain? Well, this is wet. I'd say half a quart by the size of the wet spot.

Thinking we have a busted engine case somewhere.

I got a little excited picking up my tools and being around the bike again. I used to love wrenching on that thing.

Thanks doubleD. I have a Gen1 and I'd rather keep the Gen1 fairings. I had considered fitting Gen2 fairings in the past. The bike requires so much already if I keep it and if the engine is even salvageable. I think I'd rather piece together used fairings off Ebay and just repaint the while shebang the color it was.

I posted on FB that Canada salvage company and got their internet page.
If you need just the frame, $400.

Campagna T-rex are using the motors, Cory is parting the rest.

WOW! Thanks doubleD. Part of the problem is time to work on the thing and now, looks like I could be running into lean times with money as well. I still don't know why the bike is leaking coolant. Could be a cracked motor. I wish life were more stable because I'd love to get into this project as long as it doesn't become an aditional stress factor in life. I'd kind of rather just pay $6000 and get another used one.
