It was taken on Calif 89 going thru Lassen Volcanic National Par east of Red Bluff/Redding area The Volcano last erupted in 1915 .....in case you were wondering. :)

Swapped out internal REV2 throttle disc for teh most aggressive since I am pretty much use to teh bike atfer 20,000 miles.. Went for a lil spin to see how it felt..Felt Good !! :)

Your bike looks lean, low and mean. Did you paint the gills green or is that stock?

All stock in that picture CR.. I have a couple of different sets of variations on teh green /black. Trying to convince myself to quit messing with it LOL

What's the hump atop your ZRX tank? Doesn't look like a stock tank. Did somebody make one bigger than OEM?

I bought two tanks and added the top section of teh first onto teh 2nd tank.and yeah my friend did a fantastic job of welding the tank and then painting to match..I wound up doing one more and then someone from teh OA did one very similar..That one we sent to Glen Reed in Australia and sent one to the kid in Oklahoma that had teh yellow Rex and the last one is still out here in the Stockton area, I believe.

I have not looked at an H2 with that in mined so I really cant tell, BUT I have lookd real hard at my 14 ..210 miles per tank while touring is a huge diff rather than 180. It takes someone really good at welding to pull it off. Those tanks are not very thick :)

I am a pretty light guy 130-135 ready to ride and as such, I do not need much in hte way of padding. I have put 300+ mile a day on the seat regularly ..My only problem is that as I have gotten older , the increased knee angle bothers me. That is why I have been getting ready to drop the pegs a bit

That tank increase is pretty slick. Not as attractive as the stock shape, but a reasonable compromise for the added capacity.

At the time I did teh tank I was riding a lot .. California to Oroville Washington, California to Arkansas Calif to Texas..
The trip to Boise Idaho was teh final straw.. I was headed home to California at 8:30 Monday evening and wanted to take Hwy 95 south. I stopped to gas up and found out nothing would be open south until I reached Winnemucca which was just over 200 miles from where I was getting fuel . As a result I had to go to Twin Falls Id. and take 51 south to Elko Nevada, extra miles I did not want ..As soon as I got home I bought two ZRX fuel tanks and headed for my painter..Poor guy worked and worked on that setup...But , it did teh job nicely and it was enough to run with anyone and not be teh guy who was outta fuel :)

The only feasible way I can see with the 14 is at teh rear of teh tank. Enlarge it back towards teh seat ..I have one extra tank and one of these days when it is warmer, I just might cut into it and see what I can do..I can shape it but I cannot weld ..And my friend has disappeared. He does that occasionally :)

I just dug my other tank out and I dont see a way without some MAJOR changes...Looks like I will be bsck to carrying to qts in the side areas of my travel bag..

so chrly.Did you have someone reshape your seat like that,or diy?I've tried several times to get it like yours.Always ends up too hard.I went a different route with my H2.I shaped it from underneath instead of shaving the top down.And then aded foam where I needed it.Haven't done it that way on my 14's though.

Grn.. I cut it down and then just had my upholstery guy reattach teh cover..He had to shave a lil bit of the pillion cover to make it fit better.. I used a kitchen knife with a serrated blade to saw thru teh material..one cut flat across teh top front to back and then rounded teh edgs a bit. Shuda took pictures. I have done four now and they are finally getting decent :)...:)

Are you anywhere near Reed Point..?? I have a good friend lives just outside Reed Point and we go up there couple times a year.

chrly - My friend has an '04 red ZRX with a pretty big ding in the tank. Do you know of a source for a new one? Or at this point would you suggest having a shop repair it?
