Lemme check around . Is there a crease in teh tank or just a dent ? There is a shop here in Chico that did a friends' and you absolutely could not tell it had been repaired. But even if he finds a tank, I can almost guarantee that he will need to paint it ..

It's a dent, not a crease. We're in Florida. He's just south of Jacksonville in Orange Park. I'll ask him to send pics. Thanks!

Oh, next topic will be the fairing: Got any suggestions on repairing or replacing that? Same ZRX. The guy he bought it from had dropped it on its right side, which dented the right side of the tank and cracked the fairing. Ugh. My bud bought it anyway cuz wifey had a rare moment of saying OK and I'm sure he felt like it was now or never.

You know about Air-Tech Fairings , right ? Air Tech ZRX.. A bit over 100 bucks and you need to paint it but at least an option and one I would probably take if I could not do the repair myself. Of course everything depends on your friends acceptance level..and if you have ever sold on ebay , you understand that it ranges widely !!

My bud has already been riding the ZRX with dented tank and cracked fairing for prob at least 2.5 years, so he's resigned to it ... I mean, he's not loaded so it's what he's got. But ME, well I have to look at it while we're riding! HAHA! So I want it fixed ... maybe more than he does! I might actually have to pay to make his bike reasonable to look at HAHA!

I'm 99% kidding about having to look at his damaged bike, but I've been a lot more fortunate in life in many ways than he has, and we've been friends since 4th grade ... and we're 50 now ... long time ... so if I can help get it fixed up I will. I actually searched for a new OEM tank and fairing when he first got it, but found that they seem to no longer be available. The ZRX has been discontinued for too long, I guess.

Extrapolater chrly - My friend has an '04 red ZRX with a pretty big ding in the tank. Do you know of a source for a new one? Or at this point would you suggest having a shop repair it?

I have a couple of pics of one here in California It has a very minor dent in tank from handlebar.. If you have an email I can send them to, I will.

Yes, I'm in beautiful Florida. I live in North Miami just south of Hallandale Beach. Closer to Ft Lauderdale than downtown Miami. We're having monsoon weather today so the bike remains nice and dry in the living room for today. It's supposed to be great riding weather over the weekend.

Grn If this rain keeps up in Northern California, I am going to be forced to ride in it.. I have missed four schedule drag races so far this year.. Bout to give up racing for the year and just go riding..

I keep my motorcycles in the living room now as I had a 2002 CBR 1100XX "Silver Bird" stolen from my driveway about a year and a half ago. Now if they try to take one from my living room they will have to deal with me and Mr. Browning. Just try it!
