went with the new titanium version.
Looks great up close.

Didn't know they had that finish till you mentioned. That's another pint I owe you. (enhanced KHI spoiler)

And perhaps race the dog for some extra dollars.
It looks fast...

Ha! They're like gazelles! At WOT they cover 10 meters per stride. That performance lasts for approx 50 meters and is followed by 60 hours of sleep and 5 kilograms of food per.

However, they all supply unending quantities of pure puppy love regardless of sleep or remaining fuel levels.

Glad your scooter is shaping up so well. I'm following your mods closely for tips!

Looking at your pictures of the mount for the hyperpro leads me to a quesion. I lowered the front of my 2012 1.5" by raising the fork tubes through the clamps and want to do the same to the '14. does the left mount bracket get in the way of doing that?

Is there any part of the damper's mount that would get in the way of a frontend strap?

Great job on that damper...very nice...perfect add on.May I suggest for ease of use...rotate that adjuster knob so it's facing you...makes on the fly adjustments much easier;)Looks great!

Nasty I believe it was smokin that mentioned the steering head mounts will eventually damage a strap.I think if you were to radius the edges it wouldn't happen

Hi Grn, I had the damper with the adjuster knob facing more upright so i could read it but it didn't suit my eye so I changed it to what you see.
Plus now that I have ridden with the Hyperpro and have more of a feel for it, I agree 100% with what Rook says.
As the damper is active by nature, I leave it on a fairly high setting and don't really adjust it from there.
15 out of a possible 25 clicks (remember to never set it to full "on" as per the instructions) still allows tight U turns with no problem but I can feel it is working for me on spirited riding.
I believe Rook has his turned up even more.
And of course considering the ZX-14 is so stable anyway I believe this is a great setting for 95% of my riding.

Also the thing that really sealed the deal for me on the Hyperpro along with all it's great attributes was the new titanium color.
I think it's a step up from the old color designs.

I got a very nice Ohlins damper for a ZX10 off ebay for $72.50. To make it fit my ZX14 I machined off the shoulder that runs the length of the damper, did a little careful filing then sanding to make it round then touched up the paint to make it look original. Purchased a Ducabike Ohlins steering damper bracket for a 749/999/SF from MotoWheels for $85.60. Made a chrome moly 1/8" tubing steel mount that goes to the point in front of fuel tank just behind steering head and also has supports that go to existing mount holes on both sides of steering head, whole setup requires a longer bolt for mount in front of tank. Made shaft mount out of aluminium and mounted it to front brake clamp. No more head shake on touch down at top of 2nd gear at the drag strip. Helps to have a vertical mill, but not required to remove ridge from damper body. Do need to do mig or tig welding for mount at front of fuel tank, if you make bar mount of aluminium you will need tig welder. Cost $158.10 and some scraps and my time. Glad I did it and it looks good, factory setup from Ohlins is about $850.

I went GPR cuz that is what I saw on a lot of TT bikes etc.......LOVE it bike was always stable without it I felt.
I needed one to qualify for LSR racing and it actaully makes a tremendous difference when racing around the backroads turned about halfway up.
Great investment very fast install never a drop of oil leaking.
cheers

I went with Scott's Steering damper....bike is very stable stock but I have a nasty tendency when doing wheelies to let the bars drift a bit to the side and this helps me keep it straight....

I had no choice but to go with the Scott's style as I have 1.25" risers on my bike and the other style don't work. I even mounted my ball mount to the Stabilizer mount bolt that screws into the tank. This keeps my phone right where I like it.....centered on the bike and not moving. I hated having it on my bars and having it move with the steering.

I didn't like having to turn up the stabilizer all the way to feel it working so I changed out the fluid to Maxima 5wt synthetic no drag race suspension oil....It made it so I can dial it back 7 notches from full for street riding, I was a 3 from full with stock fluid. If I could do it again I would have bought 7wt oil. That probably would have allowed me to dial it back to half way. Not sure why they have 22 clicks when 18 of them aren't doing shit with that 2.5 wt oil they have in them from the factory.

Any chance of a few pics?

My cockpit is starting to get a little busy but the steering damper is still a key component...

Sure I will take a few. I assume that is your bike in the pics.....see your tank bolt?

put this there.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005J43I56/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

that gives you the ball and then you know what to do from there. The kit comes with screws that won't work. Toss them in your screw bucket and go to the hardware store and buy M6 x whatever length you need for your application. Do yourself a favor and find a hex screw and not a Phillips. Not even sure why they make phillips screws anymore....should have retired standard and Phillips when hex were invented.

If you need to raise the ball mount like I did to clear your steering damper then use this.

https://www.menards.com/main/tools-hardware/fasteners-fastener-accessories/washers-spacers/spacers/midwest-fastener-reg-5-16-id-x-5-8-od-x-1-steel-spacer-1-count/87008/p-1444440135816-c-9551.htm?tid=3976871159528109226&ipos=19

I had to use a .75 inch rise but they sell various lengths.

a dab of blue locktight on the threads and your done.

Chewy

No not I, with my experiences I'll leave hyper-bike dynamic steering control to engineering, modeling and test
