This is how we SPORT-tour

Never really gotten the appeal of hard bags on sportbikes. They're heavy, expensive and aerodynamically counter-intuitive and place a lot of weight where the engineers did not intend it to be. I love this Bags Connection set-up but I did have to hack into the passenger foam when customizing my own seat. This way all my luggage sits as low as possible and maximizes handling and aerodynamics.

To make this as capable as possible I added Convertibars, Laminar Lip, UPS port, heated grips, radar detector wiring, heated gear wiring, fender extender, COX rad guard, rear hugger, and one of my favorite all time mods, a Scottoiler.

Leaving for California in 2 days!

I would definitely have some use for a setup like that. you travel mighty light with a back pack only.

It actually holds more than V46 case. Not for everyone though.

I did soft bags for years, hated that they wouldn't stay put, weren't waterproof, or always wanted to rub paint off of the bodywork.

I personally couldn't care what the bike looks like with luggage attached, I'm looking forwards anyways

Very little difference in the handling for me, fully loaded. But I pack light.

YMMV

Hope you're going here

Looks good! Questions:

- Pics of your fender extender please! And which one did you get?

- How much did the convertibars cost ya?

Looks like the Puig hugger?

Enjoy your trip!

NeedforSpeed.....

Very nice! I think this is the first time I've seen a hard bag sitting OVER (and not behind) the pillion seat. How was this accomplished?

This. I put soft bags on the dual sport, but hey, it's a dirtbike. It's full of scratches already.

I made some custom brackets that bolt to the SW Motech 2nd gen luggage racks. I made sure to put a lot of the weight of the rack on the seat, that way I didn't overload the side racks.

There is a write up on this forum somewhere.

I see you are local to me (I'm in Puyallup), PM me and I could show you in person if you like.
