Intake Air Temperature Sensor Removal
The intake air temperature sensor lead connector is removed to take off the LH access cover. The entire intake air temperature sensor needs to be removed to test the sensor.
Do First:
Remove the fuel tank (Fuel Tank Removal, steps 1 through 6)
Tools:
silicone grease
Removal
1. Press the tab on the intake air temperature sensor lead connector to remove it from the sensor.
2. The air temperature sensor is pressure fit to a grommet in the LH bulkhead cover. To remove the entire sensor, simply twist and pull it out from outside of the cover.
Be careful not to drop the sensor or it could be damaged.
3. To remove the air temperature sensor grommet, first remove the LH air box access cover (see Bulkhead Cover Removal, steps 1 and 2)
The grommet may be removed by pressing one flange over the edge the hole in the bulkhead cover and pulling the grommet out.
Installation
3. If the air box access cover was removed, install it (see Bulkhead Cover Removal, steps 3 and 4).
The intake air temperature sensor grommet should have silicone grease applied to it before pressing it back into the hole in the LH air box access cover.
4. Install the intake air temperature sensor by applying a light film of silicone grease and pressing it back into the grommet from outside the air box access cover.
Install fuel tank (see Fuel Tank Removal, steps 7 through 10).
