Correct me if I'm wrong but if you lower the front 1/2"(raise the tubes) you make her fall in to a corner faster, if you lower the rear a 1/2" would not that bring cornering back to stock

Exactly green, but you would decrease cornering clearence, now raising just the front forks makes her steer in quicker but less straight line stability now blkcasper mentioned dropping the front down which should give more stand clearence greater straight line stability ,showering corner imput, maybe I've got it backwards, but raising my forks seemed to make her more responsive

Hi all,
for next year winter storage I'm thinking about purchasing
- Pitbull front center pin stand
- Pitbull rear center stand (spooled)
Is it safe to leave the bike on the stands for 5-6 months ?
Thank you all,
Marco

The problem with the pin style is that you can't service the front steering bearings. Doubt you need any stand with a 6 month sitter. Sure you'll probably have a flat spot, but as soon as you take your first ride that will be round again.

Agree with Hub again. I've let my bike sit on its tires all winter and it wasn't a problem. For the most part, the bikes have been up on stands through the winter storage months just to be a little extra nice to them.
If you feel better having all weight off of the front suspension, go with a steering pivot stand like you mentioned. I'm sure Pit Bull still makes a front stand that converts between steering pivot and fork bottom lift. I have one like that. To take all weight off the rear suspension over storage, a swingarm pivot stand like the Abba or the Heindl Engineering stand will work. They are also about the easiest and safest kind of stand to lift a bike with. I'f you've never lifted a big bike on a stand, I would not suggest you go with a rear handle stand. I have one and it still scares me. A Pit Bull forward handle rear stand for spools is a lot safer but not as as safe as a swingarm pivot stand. If you get the forward handle rear stand from Pit Bull be aware there is a special model for the Hayabus and ZX-14 that clears the rear fender and more importantly, is low enough that the average guy can lever the bike up.
I doubt the weight of a motorcycle matters much to the suspension but that's the main reason I kept mine lifted all winter plus they're ready to be worked on and it just looks cool. The bikes take up a lot less space standing vertical than they do leaning on the kickstand too.

Hi Hub, Rook,
thanks for your feedback!
the reason why I needed your opinion is that I'm planning to move to NV hence next winter I won't be riding the bike like I do here in CA, I'll keep in mind your suggestions
Thanks again,
Marco
