Here is a custom BMW motorcycle that caught my eye. Single sided front fork and 1600cc 6 cyl. out of tourer turned cafe racer.

Hmmm...

Its certainly not going to win any beauty contests.
Never thought I would say this but even busa lines are better.

I especially like the low profile gas tank and how it flows into the tail. If I build another bike, would like to make a single sided front fork. The suspension travel in front and rear appears minimal - but compromises have to be made for aesthetics.

Holy fudgeknuckle!! What's the suspension travel on that thing? 1 inch?
Interesting concept though.

Cool lookin bike but I would like to see form follow function. This bike is designed totally for looks and I don't see how it improves performance. . It's a retro race bike / high tech look. We've addressed the aeros through more modern approaches but I think you could do something similar with a 14. If you fiber glassed your own top fairing so it flowed right up to the level of the fuel tank that would look pretty much lik this bike.

You are correct about the loss of performance. Never worked with fiber glass, but the videos on that topic make it look easy. Some guy even did a gas tank, although I dont know about its reliability. There is a BMW f800 GT that caught my eye. It has a single sided rear swingarm and a gas tank in the tail. Its no performer, but may become a new project.

bikes don't have tp be the fastest to be cool. For myself, iwould want fast first but after that, there's no reason to shy away from bikes that just look great. For the last couple years I have been thinking about making a fiberglass hugger. What I planned is to create the shape I want by laying clay right on top of the rear tire and swing arm then lift that out when it is leather hard and make a plaster mold of it. The fiber glass would lay inside of the plaster mold. That should come pretty close to duplicating the outside shape of the clay original and I could make it as thin as I want. A fiber glass fuel tank? Sounds like a great weight saver but with the seat of the 14 resting atop the fuel tank, there would have to be some kind of steel bracket attached or something to support the seat. I'd have to do a lot of research about the chemical resistance of fiberglass before I tried a gas tank.

Looks like fiberglass fuel tanks were used in boats a while back but ethanol is a problem with them.
