HID'S
08/18/09 11:10 AM

A few months ago I installed HID's on my bike, this has been by far the best investment I ever made. I wont ride without them again. This brings me to a question for those of you that have done the same. Before I installed them, I turned my adjustment up a smidge, about a turn and a half,, I personally dont think these are aimed too high, but at nite I would guess about one in every dozen or so cars in the country give me a little high beam flash, as if to say "hey you have your brights on asshole". I politely flash them back, I am debating lowering these to avoid this, do you guys find the same thing, do people just see the extremely bright light and just assume they are high beams? Give me your thoughts, I sort of like the idea of blasting light in cars faces during the day to avoid being hit, at nite I hate to be annoying.

No, not too high. The HID's are just very bright. I get the same thing here. Just a quick flick of the high beam switch shows them the light. So to speak.

I adjusted the low beams just high enough so that when I'm behind someone that the light cutoff is even with their trunk lids, never in their mirrors, even the small cars. I also have the HIDS but I don't get flashed and when riding in a group I'm not blinding my buddies in their mirrors. You just may have them a little to high considering that they have a excellent cut off point. I also had to turn the adjusters maybe three turns to get them where they should be. but I also jacked up the preload on the rear shock.
