Well Yannih. Unless something changes quick, you may just be correct about Rossi
Mad, I know many here won't believe me when I say this but I would rather Rossi did well because he is such key part of MotoGP.
But if he is consistantly off the pace to the extent he is while other young Yamaha riders are succeeding to the extent they are, then it's time to call it a day and get out of the way.
Valentino Rossi is only doing one thing by continuing with a factory or non factory ride and that is restricting the progression of new talent.
There is no doubt the Factory Yamaha Team will look back on their decisions regarding Rossi from 2013 onwards and realise they have had very poor value results wise.
And that in turn compromises the value of the brand.
Rossi's last Championship 2009, 11 years ago.
Rossi's last race win 2017, 3 years ago.
And 2 years at Ducati that was a real eye opener after Stoner won a championship with the manufacturer.
Of course his fans will hear none of this but the facts are the facts.
It doesn't take away from the fat that he is still one of the greatest of all time...

You've got that right. Probably best race of the year. The race that will be talked about for decades. The thing that stands out the most was how smooth he made it look no matter the line taken. Impressive.
This opens the door for Qman. On the other hand, Dovi could finally win at the top and retire with one. Miller is on a learning curve and better work out more seriously. Mav can grab the ring too. The door is way open, but that kid put it all together today. The heat did not take him out. I hear he works out like a maniac so Miller should learn from that.
You could tell MM wanted to get away, but what was he thinking? I didn't know you could dirt track a works bike, but it looks possible. When the telemetry was showing, I watched a peak of 57° and down he went. When he kept that hand on his leg, that's going to take him out for the year... maybe.
Mav put on a collage of body and hand language riding a bike... funny.

Well, Rin's season is over. Haven't watched the race yet
Yannih, even though Rossi isn't winning races anymore, his value to Yamaha is
enormous. He is still the most popular rider in the series. If I was Yamaha,
I'd give him anything, a frigging tricycle ,as long as he keeps bringing in
the bux.

40 push-ups before leaving the hospital.
I saw some unofficial video of Marquez getting off a private jet, getting into a van, and then arriving at hospital.
He was moving so slowly and carefully while holding his wrapped up arm as if every movement brought excruciating pain.
Now you tell me after surgery he did 40 pushups?
Unbelievable!

Off the plane was pre-op. Post-op was 40 seconds. That's right, the field wants a 40 second head start. It was moto3 all over again. Remember he came from the back? What a hole shot.

Lemme see, two years and not one part out of line of those triump engines. How do you like your duc? Smoked. See any yammie's parked on the wall times two?
How fast the field changes.
Bagnaia, Morbidelli, Binder, and Oliveira are the change in the guard.

So up front, great race by Rossi.
One snowflake doesn't make a blizzard, but he did bloody well.
Rode hard, covered the lines and deserved his bronze medal.
Which brings me to 2015.
Rossi said Marquez held him up in his bid to chase the World Championship.
And what happened in this Jerez race?
Rossi held Vinales up who was much quicker, his team mate no less, in his bid to chase QMan and potentially win the race.
As he should have because VR46 was racing to gain the best result possible for himself and his team and if Vinales couldn't find a way past and gap him too bad.
But if Marquez does exactly the same thing Rossi did, well thats obviously completely different!
See the hypocrisy Hub?

Come on now. The season just started and you expect Rossi to just pull over and let Vinales by ???
It's Vinales job to make the pass on his rivals. He couldn't outbrake the Old Man. So who's fault is that ?
Good day for the Sky46 Moto2 team...until the cool down lap. Ooop

I do. Looking back, that was a cheap shot on MM no doubt. Sunday was more a respected blocking move on the team mate. I dragged the drop on Mav so I could watch Rossi take his lines. Get Bagnaia in and Dovi out. Don't give me that crap about the track is too short for the top end advantage. Bag might become some hot property. I wanna see that revenge come out next race so this was not a fluke.

Mad, exactly!
I agree with you 100%.
That's called racing hard and smart, and getting the very best result you can.
Now lets travel back to 2015 together and substitute the names "Rossi with Marquez" and "Vinales with Rossi" and use your amended statement.
The season was well under way and you expect Marquez to just pull over and let Rossi by ???
It's Rossi's job to make the pass on his rivals. He couldn't pass and gap Marquez. So who's fault is that?
So when Marquez does it to Rossi it's completely out of order but if Rossi does it to Vinales that's completely fine?
Now do you see my point Mad?

Mad, does it matter if its the beginning, middle or end of a season for a champion competitor?

Yes. If it's near the end of the season, and one rider has a shot at the championship, then Team Orders come into play. That's when the rider behind puts the prospects of team trophy first.
Doesn't always work that way. For example, Borenzos "Map 8" fiasco.

Mad, you are again completely right.
Of course team orders come into play at the end of the season.
But that kind of goes without saying.
With the Lorenzo situation, I have no idea what happened there...
