Busa Guy considering Switching
10/23/11 6:00 AM

Hi everyone, I am 53 and currently own a 05 Busa Turbo Stage 2 Streetbike. A B King and a Goldwing. In the recent past I ownd a V Strom and a Ducati 999.
At the urging of my Wife /CEO I am considering selling the Busa and getting something a little less maintenance intense. What I am reading of the 2012 ZX14 has moved it to near the top of my list. I have a couple of questions for the guys / Girls who wrench their own bikes.
A moderate priced reasonable sounding exhaust. (I have Two Brothers on my B King and it is just a bit too loud.)
On Suzuki's I have a ECU Re-flashing Kit. is there something similar for the ZX14? or do I need to consider a Power Commander or the like?
From the comfort side I am 6'2 should I be thinking Heli Bars or Dropped Pegs ( I have both on the Busa )
Does anyone know off hand if bagster makes a tank cover?

So... are you considering the 2012 bike or the current 2006-2011 models? Also - are'nt you going to wait to see what Suzi's response is to the new 14 before switching camps? Kidding... there are ECU reflashes available, but the jury's still out on whether or not it does any real good for the current 14... as far as the new one....who knows.

I've only recently installed heli-bars risers on mine, really only just to make it a little more comfortable for the longer rides I do now... but, it's pretty comfortable and not quite as cramped feeling as the Busa so you may not do much to it along those avenues - but typical comfort mods are the same as for the Busa, seat, lowered pegs, bar risers, etc...

A moderate priced reasonable sounding exhaust

Slip-ons or full systems? Personally, I prefer Brock's CT Dual Full system... awesome sounds, not reasonably priced though, set u back about 2k... There are others on here who have a lot of great experience with almost anything you can think of for the 14, maybe one of them will chime in... JM2C...
