Wanted: ZX14R (gen2) Ignition Tables
06/25/22 11:37 PM

Hello Everyone

My little project is finally up and running. I’ve built a lotus 7 replica with a ZX14R gen2 motor.

I running a MOTEC ECU and I’m looking for stock ignition tables please. This will be my starting point as I build a suitable MAP.

Any additional info on ignition numbers that you guys have used over and above the stock table will also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Oscar

I have two tables, both purported to be stock Gen1 timing maps. I can post those if you think it would help. I'm sure the Gen2 has different timing than the Gen1 though.

You built a car so you probably are aware that any stock map you grab off the internet is not guaranteed to be authentic. My understanding is that any people who can actually bring a stock map up on a computer aren't very likely to disclose it.

Thanks Rook

I’ve seen the 2 Gen1 tables that you posted on another thread.

It’s also a good starting place but I’d like to see what the gen2 table looks like…

I’ll keep searching…

Anyone else?

I don't know how I missed this post since I would've provided the info that Oscar was requesting right here. Anyway let me know if you need anything else since I have a Gen 2 stock BIN file saved and can snapshot any requested parameters of the ECU.

Do know that there are different stock BIN files for 2012-2015 and 2016-2022 14R's, and I only have access to 2012-2015 ZX14R ECU BIN files. In order for me to access 2016-2022 ZX14R ECU BIN files there is a $100 fee that Woolich charges to gain access. Since I own a 2012 14R I don't have a need for the later model BIN files, and to be honest I don't what's different between these 2 sets of Gen II's ECU structure. Obviously something occurred with MY 2016 ZX14R to warranted the split. I know with my 2017 ZX10R it's the same situation with the GEN V models where 2016-2018 BIN files are different than the 2019-2020 bikes even though they are all GEN V bikes. Also know that BIN files are region specific e.g., USA/Canada/EU/Australia, etc. and the info I've already provided is for USA based ZX14R's.

AWESOME!!!

Thank you Guys!!!

Values look similar, If anything the Gen1 runs a little more advance than the Gen2 but nothing crazy!

Most probably due to the slightly higher compression ratio of the Gen2?

Oscar, gen1 is 1352cc. Gen2 is 1441cc, Doing this has a longer stroke alone with the enlarged cc. Gen1 had larger injectors, and if replace with a gen2, it would run super rich. Most gen jumps are incremental jumps in performance, not much, but assfactored in is that slight feel between gen's.
