PAINTING TIPS

Thinking about painting my 07 ZX14. Asking for any tips or pointers and how much paint do you think I would need? I am thinking about doing it the same blue but adding metal flake.

If you go with Coloright, be careful about the metal flake. I have heard it might have a lot less than the OEM paint. I have a pen of my fairing color and a jar of the frame color and both seem to have a lot less metal flake than they should.

If you use colorite order a small jar of flake to add to it or pay for some quality metal flake paint. If your going back the same color you can probably get awasy with a quart but if your doing a color change like I am I would use a gallon as you may need a little extra. I am repainting my 07 back metallic black but I have different color repalcemant parts so Im sanding and using a sealer primer which will require a bit more paint. I still ordered extra flake in silver and black just to kick it up a notch. Use 2k clear as it is tougher to scratch and chip but easier to repair.

Thanks!! I plan on buying more metal flake for the paint. I'll make sure I add some extra flake in the blue
