New 1232cc vfr has auto, slipper clutch and abs. It is kind of odd looking IMHO but maybe it grows on you.

its a Honda so it should be quite a bike.

I woke up this morning and I got myself a beer. The future is uncertain and the end is always near.

I want to see it in person and sit on it first...
the jury is still out on the new V4.

Actually, I am considering it, but, 4.9 Gal gas tank is too small for long range touring, and, I am not sure is I can over the stiling. So, as you said, the jury is still out, and will be out for some time.

It's nice Big Red finally came out with something "new". It appears they are going after BMW. The VFR seems to be a direct competitor to the K1300S. I am guessing pricing should be similar to the KS and the looks no doubt reflect it as well (IMHO). I am not so sure what to think. Looks rather sterile which is typical for Honda. I was hoping for more of a XX replacement. That said, I am sure the new VFR will be a good mile-muncher.

Its going to have 127kw (170 crankshaft hp) and 129Nm (95 ft-lbs of torque) and have a wet weight of 267kg (588.6 lbs) according to Honda. Not a busa or 14 beater for sure, but it should be a fun, comfy sport-tourer nontheless

Must confess, I am waiting for it. ZX14 is a stunner, but the chain is a real ball ache on long rides. We have no centre stand in SA and it is a mission to wax the chain without a stand. And no, the GTR 1400 is not an option. Just doesn't work for me.

Why not just import the center-stand for the ZX14? I agree, it makes chain maintenance a snap when on a trip. Another option is to go with a Pro-Oiler. Long distance gurus swear by those. Hell of a lot cheaper than a new Viffer!

Harley, below is a link to instructions for ZX-14 / ZZR1400 centerstand OEM kit install. These kits shall be available in South Africa.

Thanks CoolWhip. Have mailed them. We have something called a Scottoiler in SA, but a bit expensive. I use a wax from Australia called GoWax. Anyone else use it? It is in a bottle and squeezes onto the chain. Virtually zero mess and fling off. A centre stand looks soooo ugly with a 4 into 1. I will probably just carry on battling and cursing everytime I wax the chain! Dumb, aren't we?

i think the new vfr looks like a black guy with a british accent and a pink thong was on the design team. it reminds me of a fat white girl wearing expensive designer clothes to hide things instead of weight loss. not good. i guess my grand dad was right, money can't buy good taste. if it could, donald trumph would have nice hair.

he would have ridden a zx14

will be ordering one..already been out for a ride...fuel tank is small, but over a day I think I could cover more miles on a VFR than a ZZR(yes I have owned one for the last 2 years). The VFR's wind protection is the best I've ever encountered and think is will allow more miles in a day and be able to walk the next day. I like the looks and I love the build quality of the Honda, something I can't say about the ZZR, love riding the ZZR, HATE owning it, it has been in the repair shop soooo much.

Sorry Officer it was the voices that made me do it
