Is your 14r bone stock?
01/02/18 2:28 PM

Occasionally, I find postings of 14r's and busa's that are bone stock with over 10,000 miles for sale. This seems a bit odd to me but maybe it's not that odd after all, maybe us mod lovers are the odd man out. Granted a bone stock 14r is a ferocious beast but...

Since it is too cold for most of you to ride, maybe you can put your two cents in.

Yep--bought my 2016 SE new in May---have about 2500 miles on it now--and it is "bone stock." PLENTY enough for me! It's a great bike...

At this time I haven't messed with the engine or ECU yet but did install 2 Brothers CF cans, Black Path 1 1/4" risers, Knight peg lowering kit, tail tidy and Zero Gravity Corsa windscreen.

Yoshi silencers and an MRA screen is all I've nodded. I replaced worn sprockets with SupperSprox but I kept the factory tooth count.

Fuck... I changed the lamps over to HID too. That was completely necessary for pre-dawn commuting.

It took me 6 hours to remove all of the goodies from my 06 and return it to bone stock before trading it in and I still forgot to remove my Hyper Pro springs lol ! I believe the majority of owners sell off their stuff on boards or ebay . The dealer even commented without knowing that most of the stuff I probably had will work on my 2016 which it did.

New screen, hugger mudguard and bar risers, that's it. Really couldn't care less how the standard mufflers look, can't see them when I'm riding anyway and they're nice and quiet. Just over 30K on the clock now. Looking forward to another season's riding this year. Roll on Summer!

Other rear lowered and grip risers, mine is still stock. With a whopping 175 miles on the odometer.

My 2012 is almost bone stock, Zero Gravity smoke screen, CR2 shorty levers, keyless tank cover, Helibar 1" risers, Yosh tail tidy, trickle charge outlet, T-Rex side and front sliders, 2 Brothers carbon slip-on's, and S21's front and rear. Next month Dave Moss suspension tune setup (may lower the triple tree) and probably flash the ECU......that's it and plenty more than I need. Well, maybe before the ECU flash a 4-1 exhaust! Oh, also have 6 tucked away LED accent lights from previous owner that will stay there and are disconnected! So far 6K on the clock.

2006 ZX14 is also almost bone stock, Puig dark smoke wind screen, shorty levers, trickle charge outlet, T-Rex side sliders, DIY tail tidy, PC3, 4-1 Yosh carbon and S21's front and rear, with Dave Moss suspension tune setup, lowered triple tree 3/8". It's also getting an ECU flash probably in March. So far 18K on the clock.

I just brought my 2017 ZX14R SE home two days ago and hope to add slip-ons, risers and peg lowering kit by the time its warm enough to ride. Eventually I'd like to add Ivan's ECU flash but before I go in that direction I'm going to put a few thousand miles on the bike. I'd also like to add saddle bags so i can take overnight trips.

My '13 is pretty darn close to stock: No ECU flash, no performance enhancements, no gearing change. Just Muzzy slipons, a Puig windscreen, 1" risers, and brackets for top and side cases.

WAIT! I did apply red rim stripes. Gotta be good for 10 mph on the top end

hmmm I guess mine would be stock too... given I rode it out of the dealership with
Twin Yoshi R77's, Oggy knobs, Givi V47Tech Top Box, Givi 3D600 Panniers, 1" handlebar risers installed.

To be fair I did install a 12V plug, and SWMotech Tank bag Ring Lock... so not totally stock

Never done stock. I always personalize the bike to my desires. If that's as little as moving the levers, shifter, pedal down or up to suit my riding position, great but, it never stops there. I will tune every bike I own, at least, because the difference is fantastic in riding enjoyment, from that.

My 2012 ZX14R is pretty unmolested. Delky tri-oval slips, a ECM tune from 2 wheel Dynoworks, bar risers, a DB screen that came with it and that's it.

It did 189 mph in a half mile event recently so, it's working really well. I had to put a damper on for that but, I don't count that as it was a safety requirement. This is my road bike so, I just want it to be enjoyable and reliable.

My other bike is pretty far gone. '07 Gizzer thou, 9" over extension, Bazazz with autotune, 40 shot nitrous, drag tire, Y pipe cat delete, punched baffles in the stock mufflers, serious gearing, HID headlights, horn upgrade, clutch slipper removed, etc. Thus, I have both, a modifiable bike and a relatively stock road bike.
