Pipes rubbing bags
02/28/15 3:03 PM

I need to move my two Brother pipes down about one inch so there don't hit my Corbin bags.
Can I get the header bent or should I bend my slip ons, if I bend the slip ons the crome might crack.
I can't lift the bags as they will hit the body work.
Has any one had this problem, if so what did you do?

Inch up the straps over the seat. Show me a pic. Half the guys I know put the bags on backwards.
The deep end should be at the front, not the rear.
Swing by and I'll fix it for you.

Let's roll

I wonder if the approach that the 12+ people are taking might work. There's a bolt right around under the footpegs that holds up the midpipe. People are making an extension that lowers that mounting point an inch or two in order to make the stock cans clear the hard bags that were made for the first gen 14s. Maybe something like that is what you could use to drop your exhaust a bit without bending pipes.

I looked at that but was not sure if the extensoin would put to much stress on the header and block.
But if that is what others are doing, then I will try that.

Theres usually a bit of wiggle room when you disconnect that mount. Make an extension bar and I bet it will solve your problem.

You could just get an Alienhead. That would solve all your clearance problems.

When I loosed them up I still had to put a bit of force to get them where they needed to be.
