When I was running my 2012 naturally aspirated I used 89 ethanol free fuel only. I'm 180 suited it was at 70"wb. Shinko with 17/47 gearing. Brocks pipe, map and clutch mod with a hand clutch launching 5500-6000. I'd shift in the 10,500 range which was 11,000 on the tach. I also had a Brock shock, ecu flash and after a full season my best was 8.78@160 with a 1.42-1.44 60ft. I've always tried to gear to trap near the top of 5th just below the limiter. On Maui we're at 90ft. elevation though our DA is usually 1600-2200ft. That bike had 6,000 miles. I raced a 2005 Busa on the mainland on 87 pump regular for 6 years with better times and mph than 89 or 93. Feel free to ask anything else if I can help. Aloha...
Chrly: you've certainly got quite a weight advantage on myself and 13zx14noob!
13zx14noob: I assume you've got an air shifter or are you foot shifting? Next time out you may just want to try leaving it in 4th even if it touches the limiter for the last 20-30ft. Not sure on your height but you may want to consider a Catalyst seat to get you lower on the bike which will allow a better tuck and aero dynamics. It'll also allow you to launch harder being lower and held against the tank. Good luck and be safe...
