I think it's been said before, but if black lives actually mattered to Black Lives Matter, they would be trying to help black people in areas like Chicago where there is way too much black on black killing and crime. Not to mention that whatever hand they had in the peaceful looting and burning of business, many of those were minority owned. At least in Minneapolis. Very sad.

I suppose black folks find it acceptable for them to kill each other. Kinda like use of the N word.

I've also noticed that it's back to being acceptable to use the term "black". That was the term when I was a kid in the late 70's and mid 80's, but then somebody decided black people aren't actually black so that word was no good, and I think maybe "colored" was acceptable for a while. At some point the term was African American, until recently I think? Not really sure. I can't remember the progression and I'm not sure who decides what's OK at any particular time. I just know I prefer for myself "whitey" and "honky".

We have a BLM thread 35 pages long on the org. I have been in two squabbles and narrowly avoided a third. The thread was shut down and then they opened it up again to the dismay of a few people. I'm finding it most educational though. What I have taken away so far are:

1. Nobody seems to understand why Chauvin was careless enough to kill a guy in front of onlookers. That was a murder unless there's something none of us have seen yet.
2. Black people do get treated differently than white people and that definitely goes for interactions with police.
3. Black people commit almost as many violent crimes (except rape) as white people despite making up only 16% of the population. That's why police have the notion that ANY black person might be a criminal.
4. Black people are killed by police less than white people in spite of the fact that black people are inarguably more likely to be a criminal.
5. Police use deadly force if it's required to apprehend a felon who is dangerous to the police or the public. Apparently that's not the case anymore.
6. Many of our national monuments do commemorate individuals who were in favor of slavery and not in favor of equal rights for all people. That doesn't mean those monuments should be destroyed. We don't destroy statues of people who advanced the equality of black people. I hope we don't destroy Eurocentric Christian religious effigies. Go to Africa and you will see Africanized ones. Every culture makes these images look like the people that live there. The first amendment guarantees us freedom of expression and freedom of religion.
7. Trump doesn't know what to do about the protests. The protests are anti-Trump more than pro-black. If Trump gets reelected he better have a real good plan because the protest against Trump will go on for the next four years. As we've seen in the past, Trump's plans sometimes get thwarted by other officials.

I do think Trump will bring down the fire and brimstone if he's reelected. It's his final term and he'll go out in a blaze of glory. Will that be good for the country or will it be bad?

The leaders of these anarchists should be marched into the street and shot.

I sure as hell hope Trump has a good plan. I hope it involves the military and I hope it involves brutal force because that's the only thing that will restore order. Once the military is used against citizens, even criminals, I'm not sure I feel safe. I'd be willing to give that a try over letting the mobs take over. What Trump has done about the situation so far is pathetic. He's not allowed to do anything without the consent of the state governors and many of them seem to be willing to let it go on.

As it stands right now, if you expect to defend yourself under the 2nd amendment, expect to go to prison. Look at what happened to the cop who shot a dangerous fleeing felon. He had the right to use deadly force and he's going to death row. Look at the woman who drove through a mob that surrounded her car and allegedly had a gun pointed at her. She was charged. Look at the guy who shot the protestor who hit him in the head twice with a skateboard. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and the guy who attacked him with e skateboard is considered a victim. The American way is not being supported. I have yet to hear of anyone fighting back and not getting a very large trouble.

It's all massively fucked up. I'll go join yannih in NZ. Hate to say it but I'm not very proud of what America has become if what we're seeing right now is truly it. We have no choice but to take some sort of stand but we better do it damned soon and it better be something that makes sense. Why aren't we out in the streets protesting? Trump, get off your ass and do something about this!

Bumpfar - What you might wanna do is write down 5-10 somewhat unique words or phrases for each of your new handles as you create them, and then use them sparingly when you post under each handle. That way you'll give each handle its own unique flare and we won't be able to tell it's you. Or you could come up with certain unique ways of spelling a few words here and there slightly differently than correct, such as "wanna" instead of "want to". For example, I tend to use 3 consecutive periods, like "..." fairly often ... like to break up 2 related thoughts in one sentence ... a little stronger than just a comma. Anyway, create a different persona for each of your handles and let us see if we can still identify you ... will be fun!

It seems that actual murder is one of the few areas where blacks commit more than whites.
