Pit Bull trailer restraint question?
08/18/12 12:40 PM

From all the sites I have checked it looks like the trailer restraint is no longer available or out of stock for quite a while. Could someone that has one take some measurements for me? Going to build my own. The main thing I need to know is the width between the verical tubes (inside-inside), lenth of the verticle tube from the bottom cross bar to the axle pin tubes, width between the axle pin tubes and finally the diameter and lenth of the axle pins. This info would be greatly appreciated. Getting ready to head to The Dragon next month and want to trailer the bike there.

I made these for my Trailer my mates been carting bikes around for years with just tie-downs and was spun out because as soon as it,s over the "Cam" on your hands are free for the tieing-down we went interstate and back with both bikes over 1600kms with out a glitch, even the ruff Bass Straight Sea Ferry crossing over to Tassie the bikes held fast and were Locked on too!

I called Pitbull and they are still available. I will probably order one from them. It would still be fun to make one since I work in a machine shop. I made my own rear stand off some Pitbull specs I found on the net except I did it with 1.25" rollbar tubing. That is one heavy duty stand.

UPS delivered my Pit Bull trailer restraint yesterday. Very nicely built. I can't wait to try it out.

Finally got to try out the restraint for my trip to the Tail of the Dragon. Best money I have spent. Took me about 2 minutes to load up the bike, lock it in and I was ready to roll. Works great and I tested it hauling the bike on 375 miles of mountain roads round trip. If your gonna haul your bike this is the way to go.

Yeah I bought one also and LOVE it! Diving through the BS roads of NY it was fine the entire way. My buddy didn't get one for his Busa and guess what! The damn thing fell over. But worse yet the FN thing fell on my baby! So the guy that spent the cash trying to do the right thing got F'D any ways because now I have to replace the rear sub frame because of the gouges and scratches.....Next time I'm just going to buy my buddy a pit bull for the next track days so I don't have to worry......lol
