Not 1000 percent on getting all the air out from the calibers. For sum reason the hose wouldnt fit on tight like it did with the MC.

I will have pics up when i complete the job. I was thinking of going to a pet store and getting a smaller hose like one that i use for my aquarium..

Yes, I have noticed that the bleeds on my gen 1 are not all exactly the same O.D. I do use the same kind of tubing for all bleeds but the tubing will fall off of the smaller bleed after a while. ...yes, probably some air slips into the hose from outside the bleed but that is ok. All air is going right down the tube to the catch bottle anyway.

I have heard one person recommend using a small ziptie to synch the tube around the bottom of the nippple so that the hose will not fall off.

If you are concerned because you are seeing tiny bubbles come through the line after you have bled thoroughly, that is normal. There is always going to be a tiny stray bubble that gets in between the tube and the bleed. Those are from outside where the tube fits over the nipple, not from inside your brake system. If you've bled thoroughly and tapped on all the lines and everything and bled again, you are prolly all done as long as the lever feels hard.

But practice makes perfect. I'll almost bet you have a lot more fresh fluid than you need. No reason to not use it because you really shouldn't use it after it has been stored for any length of time. (I have but that is a no-no)

just snug enough to close them off while you bleed. when done, be careful torquing the bleeds. the torque spec is really just "snug." 2.5-3 ft lbs or something like that. Wash the bleeds down with water after you have them torqued and the reservoir cap is installed. the painted part of the MC is not impervious to brake fluid so wash every trace away.

use a bit of blue locktight on the reservoir cap retainer screw. those little devils vibrate out and cost about $5 for a new one.

Good. That's the way I am too. Being intuitive and making quick decisions is great when you are a master but for novices like us, it is a lot better to be deliberate and methodical. Let us know how the zip ties work. I have a feeling they will keep the tube from slipping off but may not seal the tube to the bleeder. If that is the case and some pinpoint bubbles are getting sucked past the tube where it fits over the bleeder, no harm. Those are coming from outside the brake system. Torque the bleeds and pump up the brakes. If they feel firm, take it for a careful test run. If all goes well test them under harder conditions where it's safe. If there is no loss of pressure, you got it.

I used the zip ties which worked well. I think i should have more pressure in the lever tho.
i zip tied the lever back and im leaving it like that overnight. I used almost the whole bottle of brake fluid cuz i just wanted to be sure it was done right.

mmmmmmmmmm-= looks GOOD, Nitti. Very nice. lol..don't forget to put those fender screws back in if you haven't already!

Some people swear by the zip tied lever for bleeding the last bit of air from the MC. Personally, I do not know how this would do anything at all. Worth a try though. I had a discussion with Hub about this technique. Hub himself said there is no way it can be doing a thing. No bleeds open, reservoir cap on, banjps tight??? whereTF can the air come out?? Still, a lot of people swear by it. Give it a try and report back.

Glad to hear the ziptie on the bleed nipple tube improved the process. I will have to try that one soon.

I have used a grill lighter to heat it up and make it fit the nipple after it conforms to the bleed and then let it cool for a minute or two and no leaks but the zip tie is probably better, lol.

Lol.. Rook i put the fender screws in after i took a few pics.. i was excited how she turned out and wanted to grab some quick pics.. The zip tie worked well with holding the hose on the nipple and i also held it with 1 hand and the suction was a lot better. I zip tied the hoses connecting to the mity vac too.. because the hose slipped off of the mity vac once of twice the other day. Figure better to do it than not and it worked out well.

Great. Thanks for the info. I will definitely try that the next time I bleed brakes.

Did you try ziptieing the lever?

Rook i sure did. Twice actually. The 1st time i did it i zip tied it overnight.. and again after bleeding it using the small zip ties i zip tied the lever again overnight.
