I have a new 2023 14R with less than 2K miles and my stock clutch slipped horribly in 5th gear between 9K-11K RPM when rolling to 100% throttle from a very low RPM. I was surprised that since it's new that it would show signs of slipping so early on in its life. I have a full brocks exhaust, ecu flashed, sprint filter and running 16/44 sprocket combo. It seem that the stock clutch pack isn't up for the task once you open the bike up with just simple bolt on mods. Also it's rare that one would ride in the manner whereas opening the throttle up at a low RPM in 5th gear and chop the throttle to 100 percent to run it to redline where this problem exists and exhibited itself. For the first 2K miles I've been running, shall I say, as one would normally ride a bike and I wouldn't have known that my clutch was slipping way up there if I didn't have this long desolate road that was begging for me to run her in 5th gear. This is when I first noticed the 5th gear slippage....no other gear but 5th gear or maybe 6th but I wasn't;t brace enough to find out if 6th gear was slipping...LOL
Anyway, I ended up purchasing a aftermarket clutch pack and installed it and now no more slipping in the higher gears/RPMs. I checked the steels and fibers from the stock clutch pack and there were no signs of wear, however, when I stacked the aftermarket clutch pack up against the stock clutch pack, the aftermarket clutch pack was definitely higher/thicker than the stock clutch pack. BTW...I run Mobil 4T racing oil and I don't think this would've caused the stock clutch to not hold up under hard acceleration in 5th gear.
