My pads have been on for 2 weeks and I still cannot get all the little bubbles out, if I press on them, they dissapear, and then come back later ... Oh well they arent that noticeable but would be nice if they went away ...

Yes, I am anal about my bike too. Anything sub perfect and I can't keep for focusing on it. LOL

Anyway, I ordered the pads from the ebay auction and it asked me to send back a request for the total shipping to wherever my location is. (Illinois) I assume they'll get around to sending me the exacty amount via an ebay invoice here shortly, as I used the buy it now on Tuesday, I think it was.

Fellas,

I just installed the Tech Specs and love 'em. They look great, grip very well, so easy to install (no air bubbles), and you can remove/reapply up to 8 times if you need to. And I notice less vibration coming from the tank. They cost a little more than stomp grips but are less hassle and feel great. I see why the AMA roadracers use them.

And they have a 15% percent military discount. Much appreciated!

Yes the Tech Spec is a good material for resticking. THe pads I made out of raw Tech SPec material you could take off and on repeatedly.

I now have my OEM clears pads paid for after finally getting the invoice sent to me.

I had to get some tank protection as I cringe every time I ride and grip the tank wtih my knees, cause that clearcoat can stand only so much rubbing.

My knee pads have been shipped and are currently on a slow boat from the England. Will post once I get em on.
It'll be cool to be able to say I have a UK exclusive. I bet noone else around here has these official UK pads.

(it don't take much to excite me)

Hope you have better luck with yours than I had with mine, mine still has bubbles, I prepped it before, and did everything like I was supposed to, but they are still there ...

My pads finally touched down on US shores.

I didn't notice from the photos you other guys posted of em, but they are shaded abit on the ends, which looks good. I like that alot better than if they were all clear.

I also like that little black button they give you to put over the screw head. I think it'll take more than the sticky backing to keep it on over time, though.

Very happy with these. Perfectly placed where my knees grip the tank, and I love how they look.

I ordered stomp grips for my '12 and they do include the foreman grill section. Stomp grip offers them in clear and black. You can contact them directly. Very good company to deal with

Hi All

Just installed the OEM tank pads. Awesome...very happy. Took my time installing them.......NO BUBBLES.

Took awhile (about an hour) but advice to anyone installing the OEM pads......take your time.

Position from the middle first, one finger pressure.....Max.
DO NOT APPLY ANY PRESSURE ANYWHERE ELSE.
Then work your way out VEEEEEERRRY slowly with one finger to the outer parts of the pad.
LOTS OF PRESSURE IS THE KEY.
( I ended up with a blister on my pointer finger )
Took awhile but............NO BUBBLES.
CHEERS

I should've took more time keeping air bubbles out, but I'll see I can work what few I do have out. Great looking product. I just love how it looks; the shape, and especially the way they are shaded on the ends.

They also fit dead on where my knees grip the tank. Perfect.

Not to regurgitate an older thread, but for the Aussie riders, I've had two Kawasaki dealers in Adelaide South Australia give me the part number 168TPT0052 for the OEM ones for $77.00 AU, and have ordered ex-Japan (as every bloody thing else is):(
Ohhh, the waiting for bits is killing me!!
BTW: Two methods of installing these, the same as for decals. One is with a tiny bit of Johnsons Baby Shampoo in a spray bottle (just a dribble) Too much shampoo leaves a cloudy residue behind. Spray the location, your hands, and the pad first, this helps with positioning. As long as your hands are very clean and they remain wet, you can even touch the adhesive part without leaving oily finger prints behind too. You work out the water as you would with the air bubbles from the middle to the edge, if there is any trapped moisture it will dry over time and leave no air bubbles behind. You just give those spots a little push every now and then until they are completely dry.
The other is the same but instead of shampoo you use watered down Isopropyl (rubbing) Alcohol. On the decal, location and your hands. With this method, you can not move and re-apply the pads as easily.

Just a little heads up for anyone that has the OEM knee pads.
I have the knee pads on order and got my Rascal Grafik tank protector on last night.
I think they're a great match for styling and the tank protector has great coverage. Here's my tank protector. They come in all the standard Kawasaki colours.
Be warned.... the original Kawasaki tank protector adhesive really takes some effort and blisters getting off. That shit is nuclear proof. Even my usual chemical arsenal took for ever to remove it all.
