Late introduction from NH
07/02/09 7:17 PM

I am also guilty of never properly saying hello, so I'll get that out of the way and just say a few words.

I am 28, from New Hampshire, and just picked up a brand new 2007 Candy Plasma Blue 14 not even three weeks ago. I have been riding on the street for 5 seasons and went from a 81 KZ-440 LTD... to a 81 GL1100 (still have it)... to a 2009 Kawi Nomad 1700. The Nomad was great, comfy... smooth ride with cruise control etc. However, my best friend and riding bud has a 2006 V2K Classic and once I drove that, well there was just no way I could stand the Nomad.

That bike could barely push me to 110 with the throttle twisted wide open on a two mile stretch of brand new pavement... and the torque was just plain disappointing. That V2K just rocked my pants off, and I decided within two-weeks of purchasing the Nomad that it had to go. I called my salesman, told him I was not happy with the bike and to let me know if he heard of anyone who came in looking for one. I called five dealers (which is all of them within an hour from here) and that was the only Diablo Black Nomad to be found.

Well guess what the guy says... "I have a guy you should call, he came in here yesterday and wants your exact bike but said he just can't find one!" I call, we talk, I give him a number. He says I'll talk to the wife, think it over, and call you later this weekend. I hop on my Nomad, and take a 45-min drive down to my buddies house with the V2K. I pull in his driveway, get off the Nomad and take out my phone... three new messages??? The guy had called me back within TWENTY MINUTES and said he could meet me at the bank with cash in hand!

I started looking for a V2K, and I did find one... a nice 2005 LTD that was in pretty good shape, but the paint wasn't exactly mint. I then came across a 2007 ZX-14 in Plasma Blue at a local used bike dealership... they were asking $8,600 with a 90-day warranty and it had 4,300 miles and a few light scratches along the side. I didn't think I would like the color, and what was even funnier was two months prior another friend had been looking for a used sport bike and I actually told him to go look at that same used ZX-14. I thought the color was decent, but in person I just fell in love.

Anyways I started looking around, and found that I could get an 09 Monster 14 for $10,800 OTD... or a 08 Silver 14 for $10,300 OTD... and then it happened. Just for shits I called the dealer my friend bought his V2K from, thinking it can't hurt but I doubt they will have anything. Turns out they have a 2007 ZX-14 in what color?! The guy says $9,300 OTD and its yours... I wait all week, researching with a ravenous and honestly somewhat self destructive nature on all things ZX-14. By the end of that week I was ready to make a purchase, but not if the deal wasn't right. I knew there were plenty of bikes around, but I was already strongly leaning towards the 07 in CPB.

Saturday morning I make a point to be at the dealer minutes after they open the doors... they have the bike right at the front door "Manager's Special $9,299!!!" and I start to circle the bike like I'm ready and willing to bitchslap anyone who comes within 10-feet of it. The GM comes out, introduces himself and low and behold its the same guy who sold my friend his V2K. I decide to keep that fun fact to myself, in hopes I can use it later to swipe an extra few bucks or maybe get some free gear tossed into the deal.

Two hours later I was signing the paper work for $8,926 OTD (27 Tax & Title in NH) with a ear to ear smile.

I know these pic's are nothing special since she is 100% stock... but I can't help it.

So much for my short introduction! In addition to riding I am heavily addicted to building, tweaking, and overclocking my own gaming oriented PC's so I'll toss in a few pic's of that for good measure.

I'm really a nice guy once you get to know me...

Thank you to all that have made this board happen, I have already learned a bunch and am looking forward to sticking around for a while and meeting some cool peoples.

Welcome, from one newbie to another. I sold my 05 V2K LTD a few months ago and bought the 14. If the 14 was King of the cruiser world (and it sure seemed to be), well the 14 feels like the King of the two-wheeled universe to me.
You won't regret buying the 14, there's no doubt about it.
