Stompgrip...Clear or Black?
02/23/15 8:38 PM

Looking to add some stompgrip to my 2014 Matte Black w/red and I am leaning towards the black stompgrip. Me thinks the clear will just look like a bunch plastic bubbles on the side of the tank. Thoughts?

I have the clear on my blue bike and like it much better than black the black would have been touch much on my color...
It's really not noticeable

Does that CF tank guard you have go around the stock tank guard or did you have to remove it? If so, how did you remove it?

Techspec is another option you may consider. Black in color and several texture options. Snake skin is my favorite, C3 tends to wear quickly and high fusion is thin but functional.

I had clear and after a while it started looking faded and yellowish. This was on gloss black. Now I used black on black and it looks super cool. However the Stomp grip has a shiny gloss finish, so clear might look better on Matt black. I think Yannih has pictures of the Techspec on his bike. If I remember it's Matt in texture.

Remove it Toledo,
Just pull it off slowly I used a heat gun to soften it up a bit....

I'd also go with clear to show the bikes true colors.

Black on your bike. If clear gets scuffed, it will show up on a dark bike. Black will look solid. Clear looks like you don't want anyone to see it but everyone does see it.

I'd consider TechSpec. Looks cool. Sticks good. Grips goood. You can buy pieces and custom cut your own shapes if you want. I like snakeskin. They make a thinner product too.

Hi Toledo,

I removed mine with a hair dryer and patience. I did it as soon as I bought my ZX. It took some time but came off very clean without damage. I also removed KASAKAKI logo. I now use Magnetic bra.

MagKnite is good but mine cracked where it makes the sharp radius to form the center top section. Lots of $$ for a thing that will crack so I went with TechSpec and really like it.

Looks good. If you can do without the bumps, smooth clear would be fine. I still think TechSpec is the coolest. It goes great with the stock tank protector.

I've used both tech and stomp and now only using stomp.
Even took Tech off one bike and replaced with stomp.

Tech snake skin wears smooth fairly fast and some of the edges
are not beveled and pad gets ripped up.

Stomp gives the best grip, is durable and on the 14 offers great
paint protection too with 3 pieces cut to fit.

Prefer the clear.
