Here's the last red / black version with the fairing lower and in insert panel in gloss black:

The more you do of these...the more those stock cans look quite good!Got me thinkin about putting my stockers back on;)They actually don't look so bad....not to me anyway.Kinda round out the overall dimensions IMO.I not so sure the weight savings from my Yoshis are really that important.I haven't weighed em...but picking them up...and installing...I didn't feel a HUGE difference in weight between the two. And power delivery was as far as I could tell...virtually equal?Having those stock cans on there DOES in fact make for a more comfortable ride soundwise.I also believe(maybe incorrectly)that the factory mapping is set up for the stock exhausts as well...possibly creating a smoother ride....I think I'm gonna switch back just to see if she IS smoother....it's possible I think. Thanks again for the very cool pics;)

Well I've always been a doodler, previously with pens/pencils/paper now on computers ... just need to figure out how to make $ at it! Thanks for the compliment.

Only problem ... none of these color variations accomplished my goal of making the bike look less chunky (although rear fender removal helps). I think it's just got too much plastic coverage for my tastes.

No love for the Blue ? LOL ! Thanks for doing all that, I think its the whole turn signal assembly on each side that makes it look chunky, could you do just one more photo without the two side sections in the back ?

If not I understand, thanks for all the cool photos !!

Well...this year model is supposed to be more...'aggressive' looking....I think they accomplished that.I noticed the whole bike actually...in real life...is a shade more compact...it's a tad taller across the fuel tank/airbox portion...and the motor is bigger....taller.Yet the overall length hasn't changed. That gives it a bit of 'thickness' from top to bottom.I love the new looks. It's a muscle bike...Suzuki was trying to get a similar look with their 'new'(08 and up) bodywork....unfortunately,the motor and all remained the same...kinda deceptive really.I mean...it looks okay to me...but....I certainly wouldn't trade it over my 14R...no way...the styling is IMO right on time.

I think the 14R styling can take some 'getting used to' for some people.I liked it right off...but I can see how some would have to get used to it.It runs so good...the new design(to me) makes perfect sense. It's not JUST about looks...this bike lives up to it's styling ques.Aerodynamically....everything is just as it should be.

Guys ... I just got back from my local shop ... they just got in, so I just saw for the first time, a 2013 red 14 in person ... holy cow! All these pics we're messin' with in here, and others online, WOW none of them do the ZX-14R justice!! That thing is bad to the bone! I've looked at A LOT of ZX-14/14R pics online, and none I've seen even come close to conveying what the bike really looks like (feels like) in person. The mix of perfect red*, gloss black (wheels etc) and flat black is awesome!

* Some pics online of the red look almost orange, like here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy-yoYbsGk0

The "chunky" look I see when looking at these side views ... NOT AT ALL in person! WOW! Did I say wow??

Gotta suggest...if you haven't gotten a 14R yet....get an ABS model....you will will be VERY happy knowing yer not gonna skid out of control at speed trying to reel er back from a wreck situation. This bird with ABS is amazingly stoppable now.....

carabuser "No love for the Blue ? LOL !"

Let me know what you want to see done to a blue - I'll see if I can do it.

carabuser "Thanks for doing all that, I think its the whole turn signal assembly on each side that makes it look chunky, ..."

Do you mean the front turn signals, or rear? To me the chunky-ness I see in online pics is primarily due to the plastics covering the frame itself - sport bikes don't usually do that, and they look a little more airy / lighter.

carabuser "could you do just one more photo without the two side sections in the back ?"

Not sure what you mean by side sections ... let me know & I'll try it.

Guys ... I found out I can change the color of anything. If you want to see a color change on any PART of an OEM piece, instead of me having to copy & paste entire pieces, I can do that.

Let me know if you think of anything interesting.

For example, I didn't like the Captain America blue on this CBR1000RR, so I changed the blue to black:

Hi ZX14R,

was wondering if you could do a blue with the rear tail section removed (the part where the rear turn signals are)

and the rear fender removed, also a blue with the rear seat cowl black like the forman grills.

Thank you

I'm sure this isn't what you meant, so correct me as needed:

I have the all 2012 black model. I don't get too many looks I guess because the color doesn't pop out like the popular green, red and white. I just need some ideas of color schemes and keeping the tank black. Thanks!

Before you do anyhting else, lose the factory "bazooka" size mufflers. Here's my 2017 ZX-14R with Delkevic Carbon Fiber mufflers:

THAT's what my wife said transformed the ZX-14R from ugly to gorgeous.

It's the back end IMO that makes it look so chunky. Get rid of the bazooka mufflers, remove the belly fairing right in front of the rear tire and get rid of the huge back fender and it transforms the bike:
